The road to a BCS berth could hit a speed bump for No. 10 Boise State on Friday, when the Broncos face WAC rival Fresno State in Bulldog Stadium at 9PM ET.

Boise State is coming off a 48-0 dismantling of Miami of Ohio last weekend. The Broncos defense allowed just 194 yards of total offense to the RedHawks. Boise State hasn’t allowed more than 200 yards to either opponent it has faced this season, and forced a total of six turnovers in the two games. While the Broncos offense didn’t have much success in the 19-8 season opening win against Oregon, they did move the ball effectively against the RedHawks. Kellen Moore threw for 307 yards with four touchdowns in last week’s win while receivers Austin Pettis and Titus Young each had over 100 yards receiving.
Fresno State opened the season with a 51-0 win over California-Davis but lost a heart-breaker last week to Wisconsin, 34-31 in double overtime. Kevin Goessling made a 41-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to force the overtime where quarterback Ryan Colburn threw an interception in the second overtime to set up the win for the Badgers. Colburn had three interceptions in the game, but still threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns in the loss. Ryan Mathews rushed for 107 yards while Devon Wylie caught five passes for 114 yards in the game. The Bulldogs defense didn’t force a turnover in the game, which it will need to do against the Broncos to end their three-game losing streak to Boise State.
