Well this is it folks, the final week of the Bookies Battle, and it just can't get more exciting than this. We're even going to have to expand our Bookies from 5 to 6 since three Bookies are tied with an 128-112 record, and three are one win behind at 127-113. Our leader for the past 9 weeks or more....Jack Frost... has finally fallen one win behind. Anthony Santoro who has been sitting in 2nd place for a while has finally tied for the lead with Jeff Hoose, and Michael Furman.

In second place tied with Frost are, Jackson Meeker of Boulder Station, and Kelly Downey of Green Valley Ranch. Downey has really made a nice run the last few weeks to get within striking distance.

I've never seen a race this close the last week of the season. Now when it comes to the 17th week, the lines usually aren't close on a lot of games because they put in their picks the Sunday before, and as we all know, there were a lot of games off the board until the middle of the week. So here are the lines the Bookies selected at compared to the current lines.

GB 14.5 (10.5), PHI 2.5 (1.5), NYG -3.5 (+6.5), CAR -1.5 (-3), ATL -9.5 ( -14), BAL -11.5 (-12.5) IND -2.5 (+3) and SD -9.5 (-8). So there are some big differences that you'll have to take into affect in those games.

Soooo! Let's get started!

MICHAEL FURMAN EXCALIBUR LW 11-5 YTD 128-112
.OAK..DET..DAL..MIN..HOU..CAR..ATL..KC..JAX..TEN.CLE.MIA.BUF.SEA.WAS.DN

JEFF HOOSE LUXOR LW 10-6 YTD 128-112
.OAK..DET..DAL..MIN..CHI...NO..STL..KC..JAX..TEN..CLE.MIA.BUF.SEA.WAS.DN

ANTHONY SANTORO TREASURE ISL. LW 10-6 YTD 128-112
.TB...DET..DAL..NYG..CHI...NO..STL..KC..JAX..TEN..PIT..NYJ.NE..SEA.WAS.DN

JACKSON MEEKER BOULDER STATION LW 9-7 YTD 127-113
.OAK..DET..DAL..MIN..CHI..NO..STL..CIN.JAX..TEN..CLE..NYJ.NE..SEA.WAS.DN

KELLY DOWNEY GREEN VALLEY RANCH LW 11-5 YTD 127-113
..TB..DET..DAL..MIN..HOU..NO...ATL..CIN.BAL.IND..PIT..MIA.NE..SEA.WAS.DN

JACK FROST HARRAH'S LW 8-8 YTD 127-113
.OAK..DET..DAL..NYG..CHI..CAR.STL...KC.JAX.TEN.PIT..MIA.NE..SEA..WAS.DN

CONSENSUS ALLL HOTELS LW 9-7 YTD 110-130
.OAK..DET..DAL..MIN..HOU..NO..ATL...KC.JAX.IND.PIT..MIA.NE..SEA..WAS.DN ..27....30....22....33....23...24....23....29..31..21..23...23...24...22....24...31

The above numbers under the Consensus are the amount of times each team was taken out of 38 Bookies.Remember, that many of these games can be swayed by the lines the Bookies selected against like DET at 14.5 instead of 10.5. They took MIN based on them getting 3.5 rather than laying 6.5. Strangely, they took STL getting 9.5, when the line is now 14. They took TEN thinking they were getting 2.5 rather than laying 3. They took DEN getting 9.5 rather than the current 8.

They took 5 teams unanimously at 6-0. They are DET, DAL, SEA, WAS and DEN. DAL, SEA AND WAS really had no difference in the pointspread, so take that into consideration. JAX AND TEN were selected at a5-1, with TEN having the major difference in the line.

As far as the differences go comparing the Bookies to the Consensus, they were CHI, STL, and TEN. You can probably throw out TEN and use CHI and STL.

So that will do it for another year of Bookies Battle the Pointspread, and I hoped it helped some of you make some money, or save some money this year. Next week I'll come back with the final standings and we'll find out who our champion is for this year.
