CBS Thanksgiving Day Free Pick: Patriots vs. Lions NFL Week 12
By Anthony Rome
The Detroit Lions hope to avoid yet another loss on Thanksgiving Day when they host the New England Patriots at 12:30PM ET on Thursday.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Lions a 6.5-point underdog against the Patriots in Week 12. The over/under is currently 50.5 points according to latest NFL odds.
With their victory over the Colts last Sunday, the Patriots improved to 8-2 on the year. They’re 5-4-1 against the spread overall this season and 3-2 against the number on the road, per NFL Week 12 trends.
The Lions have a reverse record at 2-8, although they’ve covered in seven of their first 10 games. They’re 2-2 at home this season and a perfect 4-0 against the number at Ford Field in 2010.
NFL Week 12 Free Pick:
Even without Matthew Stafford the Lions have been pretty competitive. They’re 4-0 against the number in their last four home games and 6-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record. The Patriots have looked great the past two weeks in wins over the Steelers and Colts, but let’s not forget about the letdown they had three Sundays ago against the Browns. Detroit can’t stack up with Tom Brady and Co. for four quarters, but they can certainly hang with a New England team that only has three days to prepare for their opponents on Thursday. Our pick is the Lions plus the points.
