CFB Week 7 Picks: Boise State at Tulsa Spread Odds, Trends & Injuries

No. 5 Boise State will face an offense as prolific as theirs on Wednesday night when the Broncos travel to Tulsa for an 8PM ET kickoff from HA Chapman Stadium.

The Broncos are still in pursuit of a perfect season and are 5-0 thus far in 2009. After impressive wins in the first four weeks, Boise State struggled a bit last week in a 34-16 win over California-Davis. The Broncos will comfortably in the lead all game, but couldn’t quite put away UC Davis. Kellen Moore had three touchdown passes to increase his season total to 13, which is the sixth most in the nation. Moore is 92-of-132 passing on the year for 1,217 yards. Jeremy Avery has rushed for 441 yards and a touchdown while Austin Pettis and Titus Young each have 330 yards receiving with a combined 10 touchdown catches. On defense, the Broncos are leading the WAC in fewest points, fewest passing yards, and fewest rushing yards allowed.

Tulsa is 4-1 on the year and the lone loss was a 45-0 drubbing at the hands of Oklahoma, the only other ranked team the Golden Hurricanes have played this season. Tulsa is second in Conference USA in points scored, averaging 32.8 points per-game, and the Hurricanes are averaging 414 yards per-game. G.J. Kinne has thrown for 1,142 yards and 10 touchdowns for Tulsa, while Damaris Johnson has 20 receptions for 369 yards and a touchdown. The rushing attack for Tulsa has not been a strong point, as three runners, including Kinne, have each rushed for over 150 yards. On defense, Tulsa leads the conference in fewest points and yards allowed. Tulsa is giving up just 16 points per-game.
