The Bearcats are 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Big East, picking up a 47-15 win at Rutgers to open the year. Cincinnati also holds wins over Oregon State and Fresno State on the year, but a win Thursday night would be the biggest of the year for Brian Kelly and Cincinnati. Tony Pike has thrown for 1,493 yards on the year with 13 touchdowns, which ranks sixth in the nation. Mardy Gilyard has been one of the top receivers in the country, catching 38 passes for 517 yards and seven touchdowns. The seven touchdown catches is tops in the country. Jacob Ramsey and Isaiah Pead each have rushed for over 225 yards with three touchdowns. Currently, Cincinnati is third in the country in points per-game with 42. Defensively, the Bearcats are allowing just 13.8 points per-game, which is second in the Big East to South Florida. The Bearcats also have 11 interceptions as a defense, which is third most in the country.

South Florida ranks fifth in the country in fewest points allowed per-game at 9.4. The Bulls are giving up just 263 yards per-game and have only allowed 791 passing yards through five games. USF is 5-0 with its biggest win coming over Florida State, 17-7. B.J. Daniels has played well in his two games as a starter, replacing long-time starter, Matt Grothe, who is lost for the season with a torn ACL. Daniels is 32-of-56 passing on the year for 602 yards and six touchdowns. Daniels also leads the Bulls in rushing with 291 yards and three scores. Carlton Mitchell has caught 21 passes for 377 yards and three scores to lead the USF receivers. The Bulls rank in the top three of the Big East in most offensive categories, including points per-game, as USF is scoring 37 points per-contest.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made Cincinnati 2.5-point road favorites over South Florida on Thursday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 49.5.
