Bombers lost four of their last five games, but covered four of last five as a road dog, with road losses by 2-8-12-15 points. They're -10 in turnover ratio in their last five games after being +13 in first five.
Edmonton (5-5) @ Saskatchewan (6-4)-- Eskimos (+6) won 38-33 here back in Week 4, game they trailed 25-13 at half; its their only win in four road games (losses by 34-7-24 points)- they're 1-2 as road dog. Three of both teams' last four games went over the total. Roughriders covered last four games; they're 3-2 at home, winning last two in Regina by 8-15 pts. Roughriders are 5-0 if they allow 25 or less points.

Calgary Stampeders at Hamilton Tiger Cats
The Stampeders have playing quite well over the last few weeks. Jeremaine Copeland was just chosen offensive player of the week while Jim Davis took the honor for his work on the defensive side of the ball with Calgary. DeAndra’ Cobb has been a nice surprise for the Tiger Cats but the Stampeders, with the acquisitions of MLB Tim Johnson and of DL Jim Davis, are more efficient against the running game. In the last two games against the Eskimos, the Stampeders have limited RB Arkee Whitlock to an average of nearly sixty yards per game. If a running back is to star this coming Friday, it will probably be Joffrey Reynolds of the Stamps. The Tiger Cats have lost only one of five home games this season but that becomes irrelevant when the Stampeders are in town. Hamilton did improve greatly since last season but the Tiger Cats still don’t have the tools or the depth to beat the defending champs.
Pick: Calgary -3.5
Toronto Argonauts at B.C. Lions
When these two teams met in Week 7, the Lions came back from a 25-14 deficit in the fourth quarter to win it 36-28. Their QB Jarious Jackson had three touchdown passes. But the Lions can also run the ball. Although he was held to 66 yards rushing in Montreal last week, running back Martell Mallet had a team-record 213 yards the previous week against those same Alouettes. The Argos are more limited offensively and B.C. basically needs to slow down RB Jamal Robertson to disarm a Toronto team that has one of the less intimidating air attacks in the league. The stakes are also high for the Lions, who can stay in the race for a crossover playoff spot with a win.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Montreal Alouettes
The Blue Bombers are coming to Montreal to challenge the best team in the CFL after suffering a humiliating beating at home to the Saskatchewan Roughriders by the score of 55-10. About 10 Facebook sites appeared asking for the firing of head coach Mike Kelly. The last time the Alouettes faced the Bombers, in Winnipeg, Anthony Calvillo had a blast with four touchdown passes. Since the start of the season, the Bombers tallied only five touchdown passes. It is not surprising to hear that newcomer Casey Bramlet might get some play calling action if Michael Bishop proves erratic against the Alouettes. The biggest risk the Alouettes run in this game is taking the Bombers lightly. But if Marc Trestman’s team puts in the effort, the Blue Bombers will leave Montreal with another loss and the Winnipeg fans will be even more anxious than ever to see Kelly get the axe.
Pick: Montreal -14.5
Edmonton Eskimos at Saskatchewan Roughriders
This will most likely be the most entertaining game this week. The Eskimos just lost two in a row against their archrivals from Alberta and they are now trying to catch the second-place Roughriders, which they would achieve if they triumph in Saskatchewan. The last time Richie Hall and his Eskimos came to Regina, in Week 4, they managed to win a 38-34 nail-biter. The Eskimos can count on one of the three best pivots in the CFL but the Riders have watched QB Darian Durant becoming more consistent each week. Edmonton will gladly welcome back RB Calvin McCarty, whose presence should give more teeth to their offence. But it won’t be enough. Although Saskatchewan has been up and down this season, the Roughriders are always a tough team to beat at Mosaic Field.
