College Football Michigan State vs. Oregon Week 2 Picks & Predictions
By Anthony Rome

EUGENE, OR (The Spread) - In perhaps the most anticipated matchup in Week 2 of the college football season, No. 3 Oregon will host No. 8 Michigan State at 6:30PM ET tonight.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Oregon is currently a 13-point home favorite over Michigan State, while the total is now sitting at 56 points. The Ducks opened as 11-point favorites before the side was bet up, while the total opened at 56.

The Spartans routed I-AA Jacksonville State 45-7 as a 34-point home favorite in their season opener last week. The combined score also went over the posted total of 49 as MSU nearly covered the over by itself. Quarterback Connor Cook completed 12-of-13 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns compared to zero interceptions in the victory.

The Ducks cruised to a 62-13 victory over South Dakota in their season opener, although they failed to cover the spread as massive 52-point home favorites. The combined score went over the posted total of 71.5 as Heisman Trophy candidate Marcus Mariota threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for another score. On the day, Oregon finished with 672 total yards, which included 292 yards on the ground.

NCAA FREE PICK: Take Michigan State. According to latest college football trends, the Spartans are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four non-conference games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. They’re also 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 road games, 4-1 ATS in thie rlast five games following an ATS win and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games on fieldturf. On the other side, the Ducks are just 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 1-4 ATS in their lsat five games versus a team with a winning road record. Oregon generally struggles against physical teams like Michigan State, which beat a Stanford team in last season’s Rose Bowl that knocked off the Ducks earlier in the year.
