Week 1 Odds, Points Spread & Over/Under Totals
College Football officially kicks off the 2009-10 season on Thursday, as the weekend is highlighted by games from all the top teams in the country.
Most college football powers try to schedule a weak opponent in the opener to work out the kinks of a new team in the first game, but the first week of college football has some intriguing matchups that could make or break a season from the start.
The majority of points spreads this week are pretty sizeable, with the largest coming in the Texas-Louisiana-Monroe matchup. Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made the Longhorns 41-point favorites in the game.
One of the early highlighted games is Oregon traveling to the blue turf at Boise State. Boise is favored by 4 points at home in a battle of two Top 25 teams. Boise State is unbeaten in the last three seasons at home as is 56-2 at Bronco Stadium since 2000. Oregon is 9-8 on the road in the last three years.
Another battle of two top-25 teams is Geogia hitting the road to take on Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are 5.5-point favorites to beat the Bulldogs. Oklahoma State is 14-5 at Boone Pickens Stadium in the last three seasons while the Bulldogs are 11-2 on the road during that time. Georgia is breaking in a lot of new offensive talent as they look to replace Matthew Stafford at quarterback and Knowshon Moreno at running back.
