Week six of the 2009 College Football Season has plenty of competitive conference showdowns, highlighted by two key games in the SEC.
Our team of writers and handicappers have four free picks to consider.
LSU +7.5 vs. Florida, 8PM ET
Whether Tim Tebow plays or not, it is clear that the senior will not be 100 percent going into a hostile environment at LSU. The Tigers are rarely an underdog and home, let alone a 7.5-point underdog. Even with Tebow, this would be a competitive game. LSU has not had an overly-impressive offense, but the defense has been solid, and the offense has made plays when it needed them. Expect the Tigers to keep things tight and possibly even win.

Alabama -5 at Mississippi, 3:30PM ET
The Crimson Tide have looked as good as any team in the country this season and covered in four-of-five games this year. The Tide are winning by at least 10 points each game, including wins over Virginia Tech and Arkansas. Ole Miss got out to a 2-0 start but was flat in its first real test against South Carolina. The Tide’s defense should be too much for the Rebels and quarterback Jevan Snead. With the line at less than a touchdown, Alabama is a strong play this week.
NCAA Free Pick: Alabama | Best Line: -4.5 SBGGLOBAL
Oregon -3.5 at UCLA, 3:30PM ET
After a rocky start, the Ducks have been the hottest team in the country the last three weeks, rolling past Utah, Cal, and Washington State. With or without Jeremiah Masoli, the Ducks seem to be playing at a higher level than the Bruins, who are coming off a loss to Stanford. In the last three games, the Bruins are averaging just over 19 points per-game, and they will need to score more against the Ducks to win, but it won’t happen as Oregon’s defense is holding opponents to 11 points in its last three games. Go with Oregon today to cover the 3.5 points.

Wisconsin +16 at Ohio State, 3:30PM ET
Ohio State got the best of Wisconsin last year 20-17, but the Buckeyes have struggled this season with physical football teams like USC and Navy, while running wild over finesse teams like Toledo and Illinois. The Badgers have not been an impressive team in their own right, but have played to the level of their competition and are still 2-0 in the Big Ten and playing for a conference title. Expect the Wisconsin defense to pose problems for Terrelle Pryor and make this a game heading into the fourth quarter. With Ohio State giving more than two touchdowns, the Badgers are a strong play for Saturday.
