College Football Week 9 Unforgivable Performances
By Alex Smart

Another college football week has wrapped up and there are plenty of teams, players, coaches and situations that I'm ranting about. Here are the new entries into my doghouse for costing us gamblers some deserved coin.

Indiana Hoosiers for the worst fourth quarter of football I've ever seen

Congrats, Indiana. The oddsmakers gave you a 17-point head start against Iowa and Ricky Stanzi handed you five interceptions. You were ahead by 10 points going into the fourth quarter and you had the Hawkeyes backed up deep in their own territory.

How did you not cover the spread? Touchdown passes of 92 and 66 yards to kick off the final quarter didn't help the cause, and neither did RB Brandon Wegher's TD with about six minutes left.

This was one of the worst beats I've ever taken in all my years of betting.

The rush defense of the USC Trojans

So much for that vaunted defense. Southern Cal was only allowing 79.9 yards per game on the ground heading into Autzen Stadium on Saturday.

RB LaMichael James rushed for 184 yards and QB Jeremiah Masoli rolled off 164 yards. The Trojans have historically crippled mobile quarterbacks, but on Saturday, it was like they weren't even on the field at all.

Four different Ducks rushed for touchdowns on a day. When it was all said and done Oregon rolled off 392 yards on 49 carries and ended the day with 613 yards of offense.

There’s no hope for USC to make its annual trip to the Rose Bowl, unless Oregon makes it to the National Championship game.

Michigan HC Rich Rodriguez for coming up with a horrible game plan

Remember when the Wolverines were ranked? Remember when everyone thought that they were going to start 7-0 and contend for a spot in the Rose Bowl?

What happened?

Big Blue was trashed on Saturday in Champaign 38-14 in a crushing defeat for a team that is just one game short of bowl eligibility. After giving up 500 yards to the Illini, what could possibly happen against Purdue this week? A loss at home to the Boilermakers will crush the Michigan’s chances of making a bowl game.
