Colts vs. Texans Week 12 2009 – We Pick the Winner
An AFC South showdown takes place in Texas this week when the Houston Texans host the Indianapolis Colts at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
The Colts defeated the Ravens 17-15 as a 1.5-point favorite in Week 11, while the combined score fell under the posted total of 44.5. Peyton Manning threw for 299 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Colts, while Joseph Addai rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.
The Texans lost to the Titans 20-17 as a 4-point favorite on Monday night, while the combined total went under the posted total of 48 points. Matt Schaub threw for 305 yards on 25-of-39 passing and two touchdowns in the win.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Colts a 3.5-point favorite over the Texans in Week 12. The over/under total for Sunday’s game has been set at 48 points.
The Texans are 0-5 straight up in their last five games against the Colts, but are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games when playing Indianapolis. They’re also 12-5 straight up in their last 17 games at home.
A few weeks ago, Houston gave Indianapolis all it could handle before Kris Brown missed a field goal as time expired as the Texans fell, 20-17. The Texans have enough offensive playmakers to beat the Colts outright and we think this is the week Indy will fall.
The Texans are fighting for their playoff lives and while an undefeated season is certainly a big achievement, the Colts have locked up the AFC South title and might not have much to play for.
We like Houston to pull off an outright upset, although take the points and the hook on Sunday in what should be a three-point game either way. We also favor the over since its hit in four of Indianapolis’ last five games when playing on the road against Houston.
