Vernon Croy
Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees (MLB)
Sep 21, 2007 7:05 PM EDT

Play: Toronto Blue Jays

1 Unit, Take Toronto ML +164, We are getting solid value here Friday night with the Jays who have their ace on the mound. Roy Halladay (15-7 ERA 3.82) has pitched solid against the Yankees this season with a 1-0 record and an ERA of just 3.21 over 14 innings. Halladay has averaged 1 strikeout per inning over his 2 starts against the Yankees this season and he is simply the superior pitcher on the mound tonight. Halladay's opponents are hitting just .249 against him since the All-Star break and there is no pressure at all on the Jays since they are out of the playoff picture which will allow them to play better. Chien-Ming Wang (18-7 ERA 3.82) has struggled against the Jays this season with a 0-2 record and an ERA of 9.90 over 10 innings. The Jays just swept a great Boston team and I look for them to continue their winning ways Friday night against the Yankees. Have a great Friday! Vernon Croy

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins (MLB)
Sep 21, 2007 8:10 PM EDT

Play: Minnesota Twins

Play On: Minnesota w/Santana (Game 978) Note: Twins take on the Pale Hose in the Metrodome behind ace left-hander Johan Santana. Noting Santana has cashed in 16 of his 21 career team starts against Chicago, and his 15-8 team start mark during September, there's only one way to look here tonight.

I know the Yankees have been on fire the second half of the season but as a value shopper, we just can't pass up the plus-money on Toronto and ace Roy Halladay (15-7, 3.82 ERA) in this one.
And it's not like Toronto is playing crappy baseball, the Blue Jays just completed a three-game sweep of the Red Sox and have won five of seven overall. And while Toronto has lost four of Halladay's last five overall, he pitched well in his last game, holding Baltimore to one run in five innings of an 8-3 victory.
Last time Halladay was in New York he allowed one run on five hits over seven innings of a 3-2 Toronto victory. And in his last 10 outings against the Yankees, Toronto is 8-2.
Chien-Ming Wang (18-7, 3.82) goes for New York and he hasn't fared well against the Blue Jays this season. He's allowed a combined 11 runs in 10 innings as the Yankees have lost both his starts against Toronto.
Look, the Yankees might be the hottest team in baseball, but the value with Halladay and the plus-money is too good to pass up. Let's go with Toronto in this one.

2♦ TORONTO

RED-HOT BIG AL's 100% (14-0) FRIDAY NIGHT WINNER.
(paid & confirmed)

At 8 pm, our selection is on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane plus the points over Oklahoma, as we will fade the Sooners, who have started the year 3-0, SU and ATS. However, now they're favored by more than three touchdowns over a good Tulsa team, and this is a perfect spot for a letdown game, especially with the Big 12 Schedule starting next week. And, since 1980, favorites priced from -21 to -30 points have only covered 31 of 88 times after three straight ATS wins as a favorite, including 0 of 14 when matched up against a foe off a SU win as an underdog. With Tulsa in off a 55-47 upset win over BYU, the Golden Hurricane fall into our 14-0 angle. Take Tulsa.
Good luck, as always, Al McMordie.

CHUCK FRANKLIN

1500♦ OKLAHOMA
This one is sure to be an offensive showdown, but I fully expect to see Oklahoma come out on top in a big way. The Sooners have the best scoring offense in the country, and their defense is equally strong. They have given up an average of less than nine points per game this season. So although the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa has been putting on a show this season, the show stops here with these talented and powerful Sooners. Tulsa’s defense has shown some weakness this season, so I’m siding with Oklahoma to roll right over Tulsa in this in-state contest.

1500♦ PHILADELPHIA w/EATON over Washington w/Hill
The Nationals will lose for the second game in a row to the Phillies tonight. Washington is only 5-13 in their last 18 match-ups as the listed underdog, and with the pitcher they are sending to the mound they don’t have much hope to begin turning that stat around. They are starting Shawn Hill, and the Nats are only 1-10 in his last 11 starts vs. a winning team. The much more talented Phillies will counter with Adam Eaton. The Phillies have won seven of the past ten meetings with the Nationals, so I’m siding with Philadelphia in this one.

Larry Ness' 15* AL Game of the Week

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(34-15 since Aug 7 / 117-45 this season!)

MLB's last few weeks can be treacherous but Larry's gone 20-9 over the last 12 days and his season-long "assault on MLB's moneyline" continues with his 15* AL game of the Week. His 15* GOW plays are 34-15 since Aug 7 and a simply superb 117-45 since Opening Day. "The winning continues tonight!!

Play on the LA Angels!

Angels' (L) Joe Saunders

Seattle Mariners (81-71) at Los Angeles Angels (91-62)
(L) Jarrod Washburn (9-15) vs. (L) Joe Saunders (8-3)

The Angels send Joe Saunders (8-3, 3.82 ERA) to the mound. The left-hander is 3-2 with 4.80 ERA at home this season, 0-2 with a 6.06 ERA his last three. Saunders is 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA in two career starts against the Mariners.

Seattle counters with Jarrod Washburn (9-15, 4.53). The lefty is 0-5 with a 7.11 ERA in his last five starts. Washburn in his first season with Seattle went 3-1 with a 4.31 ERA in five starts against his former team last season, but lost to them on May 17, allowing six runs over six innings in a 7-3 defeat to the Angels.

The Mariners have dropped five of the last 6 meetings versus the Angels and 10 of the last 11 in Los Angeles Take the Angels to continue their dominance at Angel Stadium against Seattle. The Angels have won twenty of the last 26 meetings and are 6-2 in Saunders' last 8 home starts. The Mariners have lost Washburn's last 5 starts.

Oddsmakers:
Los Angeles as a -150 home favorite with the total listed at 10 'over'.

Los Angeles Angels

Surprise Surprise! Mensapicks and Harvest Picks have losing comp records. 1 guy runs both services. Mensa hangs out on ATS Talk and yet he still can't get a winning comp or late phone record. I guess it goes to show that not everyone can be a Seabass. It takes talent and hard work to copy winning services. Seabass is a pro at riding the right wave and Mensa & Harvest are rookies at that trade.

Mensapicks (6-14-0 / -1,094)
CFB - Oklahoma (-23)

Harvest Picks (7-12-0 / -585)
CFB - Oklahoma (-23)
