It all starts with this winner on the hardwood here on Friday, as I come up big all weekend long.
Yes, the imposts have been getting a bit "inflated" on the Bulls, but this 16-1 Buffalo team is Top-20 in the nation, and they have been able to cover more often than not thus far this season.
Buffalo has won 5 in a row since their lone setback of the season, and they are back at home where they have won all 7 of their games thus far, while going 4-2 against the spread in their lined home games. For the year, Nate Oats' team stands at 11-4-1 against the spread, including a win and a cover at Eastern Michigan earlier this month.
Buffalo dumped the Eagles, 74-58 as the -11 1/2 point road favorites back on January 4th at Eastern Michigan, as the Bulls improved their series winning streak to 4 in a row both straight up and against the spread.
Eastern comes in at 8-9 for the season, and they have not been a money-making proposition for their backers, as they are just 4-9 in their games on line, and only 2-5 against the spread away from home.
A look inside the stat-sheet shows Buffalo averaging 89 points per game this year, while Eastern Michigan averages just 69 points per contest. The Bulls are also also 2 rebounds per game better than the Eagles, and as a team are shooting close to 70% from the free-throw line compared to the Eagles who shoot their freebies at just 64% for the year.
Buffalo has won their last 19 games played at Alumni Arena, with their last loss at home coming over a year ago.
Jeremy Harris leads the way for Buffalo with an over 20 points per contest average, and with the Eagles coming off scoring just 49 points in their most recent game - a loss at Akron - there is a disturbing trend now of 4 games already this season that EMU has been held to fewer than 50 points in a full game.
I don't see enough offense on the court for Eastern Michigan to make use of the generous points the oddsmakers are handing out tonight.
Lay it on Friday with the Bulls.
4* BUFFALO

My comp play winner for Friday night is going to be the Nets and the Magic to post enough offense to land Over the total in the Sunshine State.
The Nets are fresh off a 145-142 overtime shootout win over the Rockets and James Harden on Wednesday night, as Brooklyn made it 2 in a row now on the road Over the total. The Nets happen to be on a 5-1 Over run their last 6 games played away from the Barclays Center, and I see that trend continuing tonight against a Magic team that seen their last pair of games both land in the Over column.
At home, Orlando has seen 5 of their last 7 home games also play Over the total, as the Magic has scored no less than 106 points in any of those 7 on their home hardwood.
Series numbers show the Over cashing to a tune of 3-1-1 the last 5 series meetings at Orlando, and the Over going 5-2-1 overall the last 8 times these teams have faced one another.
Brooklyn has shown this year that they are all about posting points and allowing them -- 111-plus per game scored, 112 points per game allowed, while Orlando is not that far off that pace -- 103-plus per game for, and 107-plus per game surrendered.
Let's look for the offense to ring up the triple-digits again for both teams here on Friday.
Nets-Magic Over the total.
3* BROOKLYN-ORLANDO OVER

After 4 straight home wins, the Jazz went on the road on Wednesday and won easily at the L.A. Clippers for their 5th straight win and their 7th win in their last 8 games.
To say the schedule has been kind to Utah would be an understatement, as this winning tear has come at the expense of some lower-tier teams, and some teams currently not playing good basketball. That trend will continue tonight when the Cavaliers continue their 6 game road swing with stop # 5 in Salt Lake City.
Cleveland has won exactly 1 time in their last 14 games played. Included in that string is a 117-91 home loss to Utah back on January 4th. The Cavs are just 2-6 against the spread over their last 8 games, and are just 6-10 for the season when getting double-digits from the oddmakers for the year.
Utah is still depth-shy at the point - Rubio, Exum and Neto all still sidelined - but the Jazz continue to ride their budding superstar Donovan Mitchell, and Rudy Gobert is fresh off another double-double. Throw in Jae Crowder continuing to post double-figures, and there is no real answer the talent-shy Cavs have to avoid another lopsided loss to conclude this year's season series against the Jazz.
Utah continues to climb up the playoff ladder in the West.
Jazz by about 20 points on Friday night at home.
5* UTAH
