The total for this Rams-Saints game is in the same "price range" as it was back on November 4th when these teams met in New Orleans in a game that saw the Saints outscore the Rams, 45-35. That was a whopping 80 combined points and an easy Over.

The question today is, can they duplicate that totals result? The answer is not as simple as black and white, as there is some definite gray in the forecast for today's Rams-Saints rematch.

For one thing, the Saints scoring that had been off-the-charts early in the season has taken a turn since the end of November, as New Orleans has been Over 30 points just once in their last 6 games this year. The Under has been the play in 4 of those 6 games, including last week's 20-14 playoff win over Philadelphia.

The Rams too saw their prolific scoring slow down towards the end of the regular season, but they have landed Over in their last pair of games, and that does include their 30-22 home playoff win over Dallas last weekend in Los Angeles. That game would have seen a few more points for sure had the Rams not settled for 3 field goals on the night.

I do not think we are headed for another 80 point shootout, but I do think we are going to see enough points get posted for this game to see both teams hovering in the 30 point price range as this game wears on.

The offensive minds of the Sean's - McVay and Payton - are simply too proven for me to see this one ending in a 24-21 type of a final.

Indoors with the top 2 offenses in the NFC on the field, we will land Over the total.

Going to play the Iowa Hawkeyes in their home game today against Illinois - and that will be with or without Tyler Cook and his 17 points, 8 rebounds per game average - as Iowa has been able to get by without Cook in their past couple of games, and today's foe is not exactly upper-tier in the conference.

Iowa comes into this home game riding a 4-game win and cover streak, and they have gone 9-1 straight up their last 10 games after losing back-to-back conference games to Michigan State and Wisconsin.

The Illini were able to end a 5 game straight up slide, as they notched their first conference win - and what a win it was - as Illinois blasted Minnesota, 95-68 as the small home dog earlier this week.

It will be back to the loss column though for the Fighting Illini, as Iowa did sweep last season's pair of meetings both straight up and against the spread, and they come into this home game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena averaging just over 82 points per game, and 34.2 rebounds per game, while Illinois stands at 74.4 points per game for, and 30.5 boards cleared. The Illini also allow a basket per game more than their opponent today.

Having Cook would be nice for Fran McCaffery's team, but since they have won and covered each of their last 3 on the Big Ten schedule without him, I would say they should still be able to name it here today at home against the Illini.

Drake has only been able to win 2 of their last 5 games, but they did just win on the conference trail at Bradley, 69-52, and back at home I can see them getting healthy at the expense of the 8-10 Bears who have also won just 2 times in their last 5 games, but happen to be coming off a 70-64 home loss to Evansville their last time out.

Home court has really meant something to both of these teams, both this season and in the series, as Drake sports a 7-1 straight up mark on their home court, and they have also covered in 5 of their 6 lined home games too.

Missouri State is just 2-8 away from home this season, and they have failed in 7 of their 10 away games versus the line.

In this series, the home team has been able to cover in 17 of the past 24 meetings.

Drake did sweep last year's pair of meetings both straight up and against the spread, as the Bulldogs have captured 3 of the last 4 series meetings straight up, and are on a 5 game cover streak the last 5 times these schools have faced one another.

The numbers look good today for another Drake win and cover, as they do average average close to 3 points and 2 boards per game more than Mizz State, and they are also shooting their free throws at 73% compared to the Bears 68%.

When it gets down to bomb-and-foul time, I feel confident the Bulldogs will can their free throws and that will allow them to cover this Sunday contest.

I love the value here with Illinois as a near double-digit dog against the Hawkeyes. If the Fighting Illini were as bad as their 5-12 overall record and 1-5 mark in Big Ten, this line would make sense.

However, Illinois is much better than they get credit for and we a glimpse of what they are capable of with a 27-point win at home against Minnesota last time out. While that was their first Big Ten win, they had really been in every game outside of the opener at Nebraska.

Not only is Illini being undervalued by the books, Iowa is getting a little more love than they deserve. Keep in mind this is a team that was a 2-point home dog to Nebraska and a mere 2.5-point favorite against Ohio State.

With a huge revenge game against Michigan State on deck (lost by 22 at Sparty in early December), I think Iowa needs to be on upset alert. Take Illinois!

The slumping LA Clippers have lost five straight games and failed to cover the spread in all five. They took a 112-94 home loss to the Golden State Warriors Friday night and are 0-7 ATS in their last seven games following a double-digit loss at home.

Here the Clippers will face a surging Spurs team that has won won eight of its 11 and is a solid 17-7 ATS home at AT&T Center.

Spurs' guard DeMar DeRozan missed Friday's 116-113 triumph at the Minnesota Timberwolves with an ankle injury. By the looks of it it's nothing serious though, and DeRozan is likely to return to the lineup for this contest. "He’s been playing a lot of minutes, more than most people," said Popovich. "It seemed like it was better to have his body recover tonight.”

I'll take my chances here with Illinois. The Fighting Illini come in off arguably their best game of the season, as they rolled Minnesota 95-68 at home as a 1-point dog. Most teams would be overvalued after a win like that, but Illinois had lost 5 straight, were 0-5 in the Big Ten and come in at 0-9 on the road. Iowa on the other hand is 10-1 at home. The Hawks have won 4 straight and are 9-1 in their last 10 overall. I'm not saying Iowa isn't the better team, I just think Illinois is going to want this one a little more. Hawkeyes could easily be looking to their rematch against Michigan State, who they will host on Thursday. Iowa is a mere 1-4 ATS last 5 at home vs a team with a losing road record and Illinois is 13-4 in their last 17 on the road after playing 4 straight games as a dog. Give me the Illini +8!

My free winner for tonight is on the Kansas City Chiefs, minus the number against the New England Patriots. And as I always insist, with football favorites in this range, we're buying half points. So as long as this game is in between -2.5 and -4.5 points, I want you purchasing the half point down.

First of all, let me address the suddenly stingy Kansas City defense, which will get a strong pass rush on Tom Brady, and will continually make him throw off-balance or make him rush his throws. I know this defense was shoddy throughout the season, but it looked awfully good last week against Indianapolis, and will be prepared for the Patriots.

On the other side of the ball there is Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes - the third quarterback to throw for at least 50 touchdowns in a season. Anyone else notice how this kid never gives up on plays, and has shown the ability to prolong drives by extending plays until his targets - at least one of them - get open.

Between Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Chris Conley or Travis Kelce, this is a very dangerous passing unit.

Mahomes is a lethal two-way guy, who can get it done with his legs or his arm. It doesn't surprise me he was sacked 26 times, because he moves around so much, but when you're throwing for 50+, it's okay. I don't see New England being able to bottle up Mahomes, and that's where we win and cover this game.

And when it's time to move the chains, on what will be a frigid field, the Chiefs could will run the ball with Damien Williams, who has stepped up to lead the rushing attack since Kareem Hunt was released and Spencer Ware has battled a hamstring injury.

Kansas City's offense will be too much, and its defense will do just enough.

Chiefs are headed to Atlanta.

The Florida State Seminoles have been overvalued all season. They are 13-4 SU but just 6-11 ATS. They should not be 7-point road favorites over the Boston College Eagles today. The Cardinals have lost three of their last four with their only win coming by 6 at home over Miami as 10-point favorites.

Boston College is getting zero love from oddsmakers due to losing five straight games coming in. But four of the five losses came by 11 points or fewer, so they were competitive in all but their loss to Virginia. And three of their last four games have been on the road at Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Louisville. They are certainly happy to be back home Sunday.

Home-court advantage has been huge in this series as the home team has gone 8-2 SU in the last 10 meetings. The home team is also 5-0-1 ATS in the last six meetings. The Seminoles are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 ACC games. The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Bet Boston College Sunday.
