FREE CBB SELECTION…BDS
It’s still fresh in my mind the effectiveness of the Longhorn football team during the recent bowl season, so, that just might have pointed this handicapper to the right spot on the CBB schedule for Tuesday. Clearly, Texas has an edge in SOS and available talent with a 10-4 mark, while struggling offensive unit Okie State tries to improve on their 6-8 early season run. In addition, we can’t help noting the home unit is 0-8 ATS L8 times out, 0-6 ATS versus talented units with over a .600 mark, 0-5 ATS record off a SU loss. For our money the Longhorns are the play. Good Luck.

Chris Mullin's team not garnering all that much respect tonight on the Main Line, as his 14-1 and ranked Red Storm will take on a Villanova team that already has lost 4 times this season in their 15 games.
I am going to grab the points here, as the Johnnies know a little something about winning on ' Nova's hardwood - they won as the +16 1/2 point underdog last February, 79-75 - as they Storm have covered the last pair and 5 of the last 7 in this series in the underdog role.
The Wildcats have won their last 3 games, and the defending NCAA Champs do still have Phil Booth and Eric Paschall back for their senior seasons, but the rest of Jay Wright's 'Cats edition is a little bit on the "green" side, and they will be up against the best player on the court tonight in St. John's Shamorie Ponds who just netted 37 points in the Johnnies overtime win at Georgetown over the weekend.
The Red Storm are not just a one-man-gang though, as Mustapha Heron is averaging over 15 points per game, and Justin Simon also brings in a double-figures average of over 10 points per game to give Chris Mullin additional scoring pop.
For the year, St. John's is averaging close to 85 points per game while allowing just under 72. Villanova stands at at just over 74 points per game scored, and just under 66 allowed. The rebounding is identical at 32 boards per game. Based on those numbers, no convinced I see the 3 baskets or so difference the oddsmakers are asking you to lay in this game.
Yes, I know this is a road game for the Red Storm, but after absorbing loss after loss to mighty Villanova (prior to last February's break through win), the tables are turned for this particular meeting.
Mark me down for a play on St. John's.

1 Unit FREE PLAY on Washington Wizards +9
The Wizards have been playing great since John Wall was put on the shelf for the season. They seem to get along better without him, and it helps that they got Otto Porter Jr. back from injury just as Wall went out. The Wizards are 3-1 SU & 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall with their only loss coming on the road by 6 at Miami as 6.5-point dogs. They also went on the road and won by 18 at Oklahoma City as 10-point dogs. And now they are catching a big number here against the 76ers tonight. It’s a 76ers team that is battling illness as both Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler are sick, though both are expected to play tonight. Either way it’s too many points. The 76ers are 2-11 ATS off two or more consecutive wins this season. Give me the Wizards.

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Game #59 Tuesday Free Pick Dallas Stars Money Line @ St Louis Blues @ 8:05 ET - The Blues are off a big shutout win last night at Philly. However, now they come back home for a quick back to back with travel involved. They face a Dallas team hell-bent on revenge as recent trips to St Louis have not gone well for the Stars. It is the perfect spot for payback too because Dallas is rested and played much better in their loss at Winnipeg Sunday than what the final score would indicate. Also, prior to the loss to the Jets, the Stars had won 4 of their 5 prior games. The Blues are an ugly 2-7 in home games with a posted total of 5.5 goals this season. Also, St Louis is 0-4 this season when playing the 2nd game of a back to back. The Blues are just 3-9 this season after winning a game by a multiple goal margin. Look for St Louis to drop to 0-3 this season when off a shutout win. The Stars improve to 9-4 on the season when off a loss by a multiple goal margin. This is no mistake by the odds makers. There is good REASON as to why the Blues are priced so low on their home ice in this one! Free Pick DALLAS money line

NCAA-B | Alabama vs LSU
Play on: LSU -6 -109 at GTBets
1* Free NCAAB Pick on LSU Tigers -6
Alabama comes into this game off a 77-75 upset (+5) win at home over Kentucky in their conference opener. With that the Crimson Tide have won and covered 5 straight. Most would be happy to grab the 6-points, but I think there's a ton of value here with LSU.
This an absolutely brutal spot for Alabama, playing on the road just three days after putting everything they had into beating Kentucky. Making it even harder is that LSU will be out for blood, as the Tigers have lost 5 straight to the Crimson Tide.
I'm confident Alabama won't make it 6 in a row. LSU is a perfect 8-0 at home this season and are going to be jacked up with this being their conference opener and first game since Dec. 28th. Tigers should win here by double-digits easy.
Alabama is a mere 13-28 ATS last 41 when they come into a contest having won 5 or more games in a row and are 36-60 ATS last 96 as a road dog of 6 points or less. Take LSU!

Jack’s Free Pick Tuesday: Sacramento Kings -2.5
I realize the Sacramento Kings will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back tonight after beating the Magic 111-95 last night. But they won’t be fatigued at all considering that game was decided by the 4th quarter and they were able to rest starters. Only one player played more than 26 minutes for the Kings last night.
The Kings should have no problem handling a Phoenix Suns team that has the worst record in the Western Conference at 9-32 this season. And the Suns are not playing well at all of late, going 0-6 SU & 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall despite playing all six games at home. They simply have zero home-court advantage this season.
The Kings already won 122-105 in Phoenix earlier this season as 5.5-point favorites, and now they are only 2.5-point favorites, which is an adjustment that is unwarranted. Especially when you consider that Devin Booker left last game with a back injury early and is questionable to play tonight. Without Booker, the Suns have zero shot, and even with him I don’t give them much of a chance tonight.
The Kings are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Suns are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Bet the Kings Tuesday.

NBA | Hornets vs Clippers
Play on: Clippers -6½ -108 at pinnacle
10* FREE NBA PICK (Clippers -6.5)
I'll take my chances here with Los Angeles covering the 6.5-point spread at home against the Hornets. Charlotte is a mere 5-12 on the road this season and I just haven't been impressed at all with this team. They are down big man Cody Zeller and have really struggled without him. They come in off a road win, which looks nice, but it was against the Suns and they let Phoenix shoot 52% from the field. Prior to that they lost by double-digits at Denver and by 38 at home to the Mavs. Clippers are 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games. This team continues to fly under the radar and I just don't think it's asking a lot for LA to win here by 7 or more points. Keep in mind the Hornets were at Denver on Saturday, Phoenix on Sunday and now in Los Angeles. Hard to imagine they aren't dealing with some jet lag and tired legs. Give me the Clippers -6.5

As George Harrison of the Beatles once sang, "Hey Bulldog!", or in tonight's case, Hey Bulldogs, as in Miss State.
Ben Howland's team is primed to make their visit into Columbia against "The Fiery One" Frank Martin's Gamecocks a successful conference road visit this Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs are up to #14 in the land and in search of a 10th straight win. Lest you think they have been padding their early non-conference slate with "cupcakes", think again, as Miss State's hit-list this season so far includes so pretty solid outfits in Cincinnati, Clemson, St. Mary's and Arizona State.
Miss State's calling card is usually their defense, and while they are only allowing 66.7 points per game, Howland wants to see an improvement on the stop end. Early this season, it has been State's offense - 80.2 ppg - that has paved the way, as the Bulldogs have 5 players that are averaging double-figures!
South Carolina is just 6-7 for the season, and it seems light years ago they were in the Final Four under Fran Martin. The Gamecocks are allowing more points (72) then they are scoring (71), but they do come into this SEC home opener off their best effort of the season, a 71-69 road win at Florida as the +11 1/2 point underdog. You can be sure that Howland and his staff have drummed that fact into the heads of his players, as that win will give Carolina some definite "juice" tonight as they look to post a second consecutive conference upset.
The problem is, South Carolina is just 3-10-1 against the spread over their last 14 games played, and 2-7-1 against the spread when facing teams with a winning record.
Miss State enters with 8 covers in their last 10 lined road games, and they did sweep the season series last year over South Carolina, covering the number in their visit to Columbia.
I will lay it with the Bulldogs tonight.
2* MISS STATE
Jack Brayman
My free winner for tonight is on the Canisius Golden Griffins, who can pick up a much-needed win at home in non-conference play against the overachieving Brown Bears.
Canisius is just 5-8 on the year, but has played a tough schedule and should be battle-tested prepared for the Bears (10-4). The Griffs have faced Villanova, Memphis, UAB, St. Bonnies and Buffalo. And since a rough 1-6 start to the season, the Canisius has won four of six and opened Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play 2-0.
Stepping out of league play for a moment to play Brown won't be a problem, as the Bears don't pose as big a threat as you may believe. Brown's biggest non-conference foe was probably Butler, and then Rhode Island. Sure, the Bears went across the country and mauled San Diego State, but the Mountain West is so bad this year, that doesn't shock me.
To come into a hostile environment in Buffalo, and face a scrappy Canisius team that always shoots the ball from long-range, and can apply a wicked defensive pressure, I simply don't like the Bears chances here.
Take the small home chalk.
1* CANISIUS

Comp play winner for Tuesday is for Golden State to enjoy a nice-and-easy blowout over visiting New York at Oracle Arena.
The Knicks did cover their game plus the points in Portland last night, as they have now covered their last 3 on this concluding 6 game road trip that started back on December 27th. With this being the final game before they fly back home, and also the third game in 5 nights, I can see New York simply raising the white flag against this Golden State team that did have last night idle.
This series have been totally dominated by the Dubs who are seeking their 10th win in a row, and their 27th in their last 33 overall meetings against the Knickerbockers!
Golden State won by 28 points back in October at Madison Square Garden, as they have now covered in their last pair of wins over New York, and in 5 of their last 8 series wins overall.
The Warriors have had no trouble when asked to cover the bigger imposts this year, as they enter play here on Tuesday sporting a 10-4 ledger when the impost is -10 points or greater this season.
Golden State only has Chicago up next on their schedule, and that game is not until Friday night. This one shapes up to be a real walk-in-the-park for the Warriors.
Stat sheet gets padded big time tonight.
Golden State by a million!
5* GOLDEN STATE
_________________________
Scott Delaney
My free winner is on the two-time defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors, as they have a chance to flex their muscles against the lowly New York Knicks and score a huge home win.
It's the perfect spot against the Knicks, who lost last night in Portland, and not only playing on the second night of a back-to-back, but are also at the end of a 13-day trip and mired in a four-game losing streak in Oakland. Golden State has also won nine in a row against New York, including a 28-point beat down in October.
Now, the Warriors could use an infusion like this, as they've been much better on the road than they have been at home lately. Golden State just won its third straight on the road - a 127-123 win at Sacramento - and will now try to snap a three-game home skid.
I don't see it being a problem, and will lay the 2 1/2 touchdowns, as I look for another 20+ blowout win.

My free play for Tuesday night is on the Edmonton Oilers over the San Jose Sharks, who I think could be overpriced for a couple of reasons.
No. 1 - the Oilers are playing very well, and they arrive after a 4-0 win in Anaheim two nights back. In fact, the Oilers have won two of three during this road trip with wins in Arizona and Anaheim, and the lone loss against a very dangerous Los Angeles Kings team. Fact is, Edmonton might be the most dangerous team that isn't in the Western Conference playoff race, for now. It could very well sneak up and grab the last playoff spot by season's end.
No. 2 - the Sharks have a big game coming up on Thursday, as they leave San Jose for Las Vegas, and head to T-Mobile to play the hottest team in the West, the Golden Knights, who are heavy favorites against the New York Rangers tonight. It's a brief getaway, as the Sharks return to face the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. So I'm not so sure San Jose will have all its focus on the Oilers tonight, and could very well be looking ahead to Vegas on Thursday.
When you can catch Edmonton playing well, and you have a big price with Connor McDavid, you grab the value in the plus-price.
Take a shot with Edmonton.
1* OILERS
