Falcons -4 over Giants
Over 70% of the public are wagering on the Falcons tonight. It’s never a safe bet when you go with a public play, but sometimes people look to much into what team the money is on like Vegas has any clue on who is really going to win these games. I am taking Atlanta for these reasons. The New York Giants have a new coach, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator playing on the road. This unit has shown us so far that they are not a good football team. What all of a sudden are they going to do to make their football team better? The Giants also have a rookie running back in Saquon Barkley who is a bright spot for this team, but he is just a rookie. Here is the real key. The Giants are starting a brand new offensive line unit tonight. The five starters have not yet played together in a real game. This is not a good sign because all it takes is one penalty to stall a drive. The Giants Defensive Line has only 7 sacks this year and this defense has not been up to par with what we expected. Much of this has to do with new coaching. The Falcons are at home where they can put up a lot of offense. Atlanta is missing Freeman at running back for the rest of the season and their FG kicker tonight is out so if they have to settle for FG’s it could give the Giants hope in this game. This Falcons offensive line started all but 2 games together last year and have been the same unit all of this year. Atlanta has so many weapons on offense and should have no problem putting up points tonight. If this New York Giants team can come into Atlanta on the road with a first year head coach, first year offensive coordinator, first year defensive coordinator, a rookie running back, a QB that is getting older and goes down like glass joe when touched, an offensive line who as a unit never has started in this combo together and they can win this game then you tip your hat and move on to the next bet. These type of scenarios don’t pop up too often in pro football. I will take my chances with the home team. Take the Falcons.
