For Tuesday, Raise the Bar 1500♦ is Boston over Philadelphia. At 8:30 am eastern, the Celtics are -4 /12 points in Vegas and offshore.
Good one to open the year on the parquet floor in Boston, as 2 of the East's rising powers meet again. When last Philly and Boston squared off, it was the Celtics who eliminated the 76ers 4-1, and they also covered in 4 of the 5 games.
Boston accomplished that without the services of Gordan Heyward and Kyrie Irving on the court! Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown both stepped up big for the C's, and I expect them to be big again for a team that sure looks like the team to beat in the East.
The Celtics have won 18 of the last 21 meetings against the Sixers, including covering 4 of the the past 5 meetings on their home court.
Philly has had to limit both Ben Simmons and Dario Saric during the preseason with injuries. No doubt this is a likely playoff preview come the end of the regular season, but for tonight's opening round meeting my money is on Boston as the home favorite.
