My comp play for Monday is the Chiefs as the road favorite in Denver as they take on a Broncos team that they have owned of late.
K.C. brings a 5-game series win and cover streak into this tilt, and while those wins were with Alex Smith at quarterback, it is not such a bad thing with Pat Mahomes now the signal-caller for Andy Reid's team.
Mahomes has been "light's out" since assuming the starting position, as Kansas City has won and covered all 3 of their games played, and Mahomes has thrown 13 touchdown passes in those wins.
The Broncos will be tough in their home stadium, but I have reservations with their offense which simply does not have the weapons needed to keep pace with the Chiefs high-octane unit.
Willing to lay the road wood with the in-sync Mahomes and his Chiefs this Monday.

The Chicago Cubs have home-field advantage for this tiebreaker game that will decide the NL Central title. That’s a huge advantage and I’ll gladly lay the small price here as my free pick for Monday.
It’s no surprise the Cubs are going with Jose Quintana today. After all, Quintana owns the Brewers, going 6-2 with a 1.60 ERA and 0.817 WHIP in 10 career starts against them. Expect more of the same today.
Taking nothing away from Jhoulys Chacin because he has been pretty good this season, going 15-8 with a 3.56 ERA in 34 starts. However, he is getting too much respect from oddsmakers for my liking in this matchup.
Quintana is 15-1 (+13.6 units) against the money line in home games vs. teams who strand 6.9 or fewer runners on base per game over the last two seasons. Quintana is 21-5 (+14.6 units) against the money line in home games in the second half of the season over the last three seasons. The Brewers are 1-6 in their last seven playoff road games. Bet the Cubs Monday.

I'll take my chances here with the Cubs as a small home favorite in Monday's NL Central tie-breaker, where the winner moves on to Divisional Round and the loser has to play in the Play-In game on Tuesday. Milwaukee has been on fire of late, but this team hasn't been in a playoff like atmosphere like the Cubs have the past few seasons. When it matters the most, Chicago tends to deliver, especially at home and that's exactly what I expect to happen here. Cubs will have the perfect guy on the mound in Jose Quintana, who has a 1.60 ERA and 0.817 WHIP in 10 career starts (8-2 team record) against the Brewers. Quintana recently faced Milwaukee in Chicago on 9/11 and allowed just 3 hits over 6 2/3 shutout innings. Give me the Cubs -126!
