Memphis vs. Missouri
Memphis+10
Missouri is banged up and bruised after tussling with power house Alabama last week, losing by a 39-10 count. Now in a non conference game they may not be 100% into this tilt and not healthy enough to do so as key top WRs, Emanual Hall and Nate Hall are hobbled by nagging injuries and if they do play may seem limited time. It must be noted Missouri just is 0-7-1 ATS L/8 non conference tilts as single digit favs on the opening line. Meanwhile, Memphis is off a head scratching 31-30 loss vs undefeated UCF last time out, a game that could have easily been theirs if it were not for bad clock management and sudden defensive lapses late in the game. Needless to say the conspiracy guys were outing full force after that tilt, and I feel like the visiting Tigers need to prove themselves this week in a big way or remain under the microscope of scrutiny.
MEMPHIS is 13-3 ATS L/16 off an extremely close loss by 3 points or less to a conference rival
CFB Road underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points (MEMPHIS) - after gaining 525 or more total yards/game over their last 2 games are 50-14 ATS L/5 seasons for a 78% conversion rate for bettors on the blind.

Akron vs. Kent State
Kent State+5½
This is going to look dumb when they get blown out, but I'm going to take a shot with the home team here. KSU has won just once beating Howard at home 54-14 with their other home contest being a 1 point loss to Ohio as a 11.5 point underdog. Kent State has a decent quarterback in Woody Barrett who just has to learn how to cut down on the turnovers. This offense has shown flashes at times this season. Akron went 2-0, but then lost three straight as their offense went dry. The Zips scored 36 points in losses to Iowa State, Miami-Ohio and Buffalo. This is their fourth road game over their last five so I've got to believe there could be some road weariness. It's not like their defense is all that good either. These two teams stink, but I'll lean to the home team.

Play - Memphis (Game 397).
Edges - Memphis: 5-2 ATS as dogs when underdog previous game… Missouri: 0-7-1 ATS as single-digit non-conference home favorites … With that we’ll fade Mizzou as a Homecoming favorite in this SEC sandwich spot (off Alabama with Kentucky revenger on deck). We recommend a 1* play on Memphis. Thank you and good luck as always.

Connecticut vs. South Florida
Connecticut+34
Close your eyes and back the Huskies this week. They are off a bye, and going against an inflated number considering they are 0-5-1 ATS, but there are some things to like here as they go up against South Florida, who is ranked in the top 25, and we all know they are not a top 25 team. South Florida has a much bigger game on deck at Houston. Uconn has by far played a tougher schedule, and that has resulted in some very poor defensive statistics and offensive statistics. Uconn has faced on average an offensive YPP team ranking 27th in the country. That's just insane and when you put that in perspective South Florida's defense has faced #76.8. On offense, Uconn' has faced an average defense ranking 47.2 in YPP defense, while South Florida has faced #91. No wonder the statistics are so lopsided.
The Huskies should be able to move the ball a bit here on the ground. That is the one thing Uconn has been able to do, and that's a hole in South Florida's defense as they rank 88th defending the run. Uconn has a mobile QB in David Pindell here who should be able to move the ball.

Oregon vs. Washington State
Washington State-140
This is a Free NCAAF play on the Washington State Cougars. The Ducks are moving up in the rankings after an upset win over the Washington Huskies on Saturday. The Huskies were in position to win the game in the fourth quarter, but Peyton Henry missed a 37 yard (chip shot) field goal in the dying seconds. That allowed Oregon to come back and win in overtime. The Ducks are flying high as they head into Pullman for a date with the Cougars, but this game has all the signs of a classic let down spot for the visitors. Washington State is coming off a bye week, and they are still undefeated at home. One of their three home wins came against a very strong Utah team. The Ducks have lost three straight to Washington State, and their last game at Pullman was a 51-33 loss in 2016. The Ducks get a lot of love from bettors, but in recent years they have proven to be overrated. That is evidenced by the fact that they have failed to cover in eight consecutive games versus these Cougars. Take WAZZU! GL,
Jesse Schule

Oregon State +7.5
This play just missed out on our premium card. The Cal Golden Bears and the Oregon State Beavers face off Saturday and in this game the value is with the Beavers.
Cal got off to a fast start, but the wheels have fallen off and they come into this game having lost 37-7 against a bad UCLA team.
Oregon State hasn't been great but they finally got the offense going in the last game and I think that can carry them in this game.
Back the Beavers

Mississippi State vs. LSU
My free play is on LSU at 7:00 ET.
LSU opened the season ranked No. 25 in the AP's preseason poll but wasted no time making its mark, taking down then-No. 8 Miami 37-17 at Arlington, Tx, as a three-point dog. The Tigers followed two weeks later with a 22-21 win at then-No. 7 Auburn, this time as a 10-point dog. Not to be undone, LSU won 36-16 last Saturday as a seven-point home dog against then-No. 2 Georgia. However, there is 'no rest for the weary' when one plays in the SEC. LSU is back at No. 5 in the latest AP poll but faces yet another ranked team this Saturday, as No. 22 Mississippi State visits Baton Rogue. The Bulldogs began the season ranked 18th and reached No. 14 after a 3-0 start but back-to-back losses to Kentucky and Florida dropped them out of the rankings. However, Miss St is back in, after a 23-9 upset of then-No. 8 Auburn on Oct 6. This rivalry is LSU's longest and Mississippi State's second, behind the Egg Bowl against the University of Mississippi. LSU leads the series 73–35–3, after winning 16 of the last 18 meetings.
The Bulldogs feature one of the best defenses in the country, allowing an FBS-low 12.7 PPG and ranking eighth in total defense at 289.7 YPG. Defensive lineman Montez Sweat leads the nation in sacks per game (1.25) and tops the SEC in total sacks (7.5). QB Nick Fitzgerald accounted for 264 yards of total offense and two TDs, rushing for 195 and two scores against the Tigers. Fitzgerald is the top rushing QB in SEC history and his 513 yards leads a running game that is averaging an SEC-best 240.7 YPG (18th in the nation).
In contrast to Miss St's run-oriented attack, LSU arguably has the most balanced offense in the nation, rushing and passing for the exact same number of yards (1,415) through seven games. The offense is averaging 32.0 PPG, ranking 52nd. The defensive unit is no slouch, ranking 17th in points allowed (16.9 per) on 340.3 YPG (33rd). Linebacker Devin White was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a season-high 13 tackles and recovering a fumble in the win over Georgia (he ranks third in the SEC with 66 total tackles and 9.4 per game).
Yes, Mississippi State has limited five of its six opponents to 14 points or fewer but LSU is averaging 37.5 PPG at home this season. It's also very likely that LSU remembers last year's meeting against Miss State in which the Bulldogs blasted the Tigers, 37-7, in Starkville, Ms. It was the most lopsided loss for LSU since Ed Orgeron took over as head coach four games into the 2016 season plus more notably, it was Miss St's largest margin of victory in the all-time series, which dates to 1896. MSU is just 3-7 ATS on the SEC road their last 10. Lay the points with LSU.
Good luck...Larry

Penn State-14½
Saturday's FREE NCAAF WINNER: Penn State.
Game 343.
12:30 pm pst.
Indiana hasn't had any problems besting the likes of Ball State and Rutgers. But, the Hoosiers fell way short when facing the Spartans, the Buckeyes, and the Hawkeyes. Are you beginning to see a pattern here? Penn State comes in here, having not won in a month. The Nittany Lions have taken 4 in a row in this series, both SU and ATS. PSU doesn't just need a win to get back on track, they need a decisive victory to get their mojo and confidence back. The Nittany Lions are 5-1 ATS the L6 road games, 15-5-1 ATS the L21 Conference games, and 21-6-2 ATS the L29 overall games. The Hoosiers are 3-8-1 ATS the L12 home games, 5-15-1 ATS the L21 Conference games, and 3-12-1 ATS the L16 overall games. Take Penn State. Thank you.

Very encouraging performance by the Tar Heels last week. This team finally has their suspended players back. No question, losing at the very end to Virginia Tech was disappointing, but I'm looking at that result as a positive for UNC's team confidence. This is a very big game for the Tar Heels. They're sitting at 1-4 but a win gets them back in the hunt to accomplish something positive for the season and in the ACC. Syracuse has a very explosive offense but the Orange defense is not very good. The sharper early dollars have shown on the dog for this game and I believe with very good reason. UNC had a terrific offensive game against Virginia Tech and they could well be even better here against the somewhat soft Syracuse stop unit. Expect a back and forth battle and a decent likelihood that this is a one possession game. Taking what is still a good price on North Carolina looks like the right move.

363 Western Michigan at Central Michigan
Broncos have won four straight and the offense has produced 143 points in the process. Despite this being the fourth road game in five weeks, we prefer the road favorite side. Western had a three game winning streak snapped in this series last year, as the Broncos lost outright at home as a favorite. That kept this program from four straight winning years.
Central hasn't surpassed 24 points in any FBS game this season, producing just 31.3% successful offensive plays. In the last five games the Chippewas own a -10 turnover margin. A lack of scoring and not taking care of the football make it hard to trust the host here.

Event: (347) HOUSTON U at (348) NAVY
Sport/League: CFB
Date/Time: October 20, 2018 3PM EDT
Play: NAVY 13.0 (-110)
Navy is on an uncharacteristic 0-3 SU and ATS slide but the Midshipmen have not lost four straight games since 2011. Head coach Ken Niumatalolo is 6-1-1 ATS as a home underdog during his 11-year tenure with Navy, with all six covers coming as outright wins. Niumatalolo is also 14-7 ATS as an underdog of more than eight points, including 11-2 ATS versus an opponent coming off a win.
Houston arrives in Annapolis off a misleading 42-20 win over East Carolina in which the Cougars were actually outgained and allowed nine more first downs than they gained. Houston extended the winning margin by virtue of a plus-four turnover margin and is 2-8 ATS in its past ten games as a road favorite (1-5 ATS L/6).
Navy applies to a very strong 85-40 ATS contrarian system that invests on certain college football teams off four or more consecutive losses versus opponents entering off an against-the-spread win.
Navy is a profitable 18-8 ATS in its last 27 home games, including 3-1-1 ATS in its past five home games versus .501 or greater opposition. The Midshipmen have gone bowling in nine of Niumatalolo's first ten seasons and will be laser-focused for this Homecoming conference affair.
Finally, my math model only favors Houston by 9.35 points and the Midshipmen are 8-2 ATS as underdogs with revenge. With Houston traveling for the second consecutive week and facing the option for the first time this season, grab the desperate home underdog and invest with confidence.

Event: (357) Georgia Southern at (358) NEW MEXICO STATE
Sport/League: CFB
Date/Time: October 20, 2018 4PM EDT
Play: NEW MEXICO STATE 13.0 (-108)
Both Georgia Southern and New Mexico State will be expecting a bounceback of sorts this weekend after dismal performances last week. Georgia Southern, a 17 point favorite heading into the game, nearly let it slip late last week against lowly Texas State, hanging on for the win by just 2 points. New Mexico State meanwhile let their defense get exposed by Louisiana Lafayette for a whopping 66 points in total and will really need to focus on better defense this week against the Eagles. Neither performance warrants much confidence going forward but the greater motivation should definitely lie with New Mexico State in this one.
Despite a poor outing, Georgia Southern nevertheless ended up winning the game against Texas State, so big sighs all round in the Eagles camp as they focus on a potential bowl appearance down the line. New Mexico State on the other hand got embarrassed last week by ULL. For a game that was projected to be somewhat close before kick-off (Vegas had the line at 7), it was an absolute blowout by the final whistle as the NMSU Aggies lost by 28 points in a humiliating loss. Because of that we expect the Aggies to respond well here at home in Las Cruces and make this a tight affair.
Georgia Southern are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings of these two teams and we expect that record to move to 5 as New Mexico stay inside this number on Saturday.
Take the Aggies plus the points in this one.

Play: Montreal Alouettes 5.0 (-108)
Two teams tied in the basement of the East play Saturday in Toronto as the Alouettes visit the Argonauts. In their only game this year, Montreal beat Toronto 25-22 in Montreal. In that game, Antonio Pipkin was the QB. Johnny Football will start for Montreal and we believe that the Alouettes actually can win this game OR. Toronto looked like a team that was going through the motions in their last game and we are not too sure what HC Trestman can do to bring life to this club. On the other side of the football Montreal are still trying to be competitive and sometimes that is all it takes at this stage of the season. They actually have lost two close games lately including a tough 12-6 loss to Calgary in their last game. At the time of this writing Toronto are 5-point favorites and as we said earlier we like Montreal to win this game OR but we will be more than happy to take the points. So lets get the job done with the Montreal Alouettes as your free play for Saturday in the CFL.

1* Free Pick on Iowa/Maryland UNDER
This is going to seem like an extremely low total with how these two teams have been putting up points. Maryland comes in averaging 32.3 ppg over their last 3 and Iowa is off back-to-back games where they put up at least 42 points.
Oddsmakers certainly aren't buying into these recent results as this total has only been dropping. It's easy to see why when you look at how these two teams matchup. Maryland is extremely one-dimensional on offense. They are 17th in rushing at 245.2 ypg compared to 125th in passing (120.5 ypg).
That's going to make it really tough for them to move the ball against this Iowa defense, which is 4th in the nation against the run, giving up only 81.5 ypg and just 2.7 yards/carry.
The key here is I don't think we are going to see the Hawkeyes offense going off. Iowa hasn't been running the ball nearly as effectively as they normally do. They are really riding the arm of junior quarterback Nathan Stanley. That's where it gets dicey for the Hawkeyes, as Maryland has a strong defense and it's going to be really hard to be accurate passing with winds expected to be blowing at close to 25 mph.
UNDER is 10-2 in Iowa's last 12 after scoring 37 or more points in 2 straight games and 20-8 in Maryland's last 28 after playing a game where they had a lead of 17 or more points at the half. Take the UNDER!

The Huskies had two weeks to recover from the pressure imposed on them by naming them the A-Play's Blow-Out Game of the year and they complied by crushing BYU 28-7. Now, after two weeks on the road including an OT loss to Oregon last week they return home to play an over-rated and shell-shocked Colorado squad that was brought back to reality with a 30-21 thrashing at USC as a 7-point favorite. Well, this time the odds makers have caught on and the Huskies are ready to howl. Take WASHINGTON!

Coastal Carolina vs. UMass
OVER 71½
UMass has had totals of 70 and 71 1/2 in its last two games. Cashing an over on the Minutemen still isn't a problem. There has been a combined 100 points scored in each of their two past games. In fact, the Over has won in six of UMass' seven games this season and in 21 of its last 28 games. Mix a passing offense with maybe the worst defense in the country and presto an instant Over. The Minutemen are surrendering 49.3 points per game to FBS foes this season. The oddsmaker can't set a total high enough on UMass. Expect Coastal Carolina to do its part in making this Over work. The Chanticleers rank in the bottom-25 in yards allowed and points given up at 35.3. Their defense is wearing down surrendering 45 points to Troy and Louisiana-Monroe during their past two games. UMass' offense should have a lot of pep and game-planning from the sharp offensive mind of its coach, Mark Whipple, after having a bye last week. The Over has cashed in Coastal Carolina's last seven nonconference matchups. The Chanticleers have rushed for at least 272 yards in four of their last five games. They have a very good running back, Marcus Outlaw. The Minutemen can't stop the run ranking 128th in rush defense. Still, I didn't decide to play this total Over until finding out that Coastal Carolina senior quarterback Kilton Anderson is expected to start after missing the last two games because of an ankle injury sustained against Louisiana Lafayette on Sept. 22. The Chanticleer offense averages 37 points per game when Anderson is behind center.

After getting off to a fast 4-0 start, Syracuse has dropped 2 straight. However, their 2 losses have come to #3 Clemson in a game they led until the final 2 minutes of the game before falling 27-23. They also 38-31 in overtime at Pittsburgh during their previous outing. That’s the same Pittsburgh team that nearly pulled of a huge upset at #4 Notre Dame last week but fell short in a 20-14 defeat. The Orange are coming off a bye week and are very healthy and hungry heading into this ACC contest. North Carolina is 1-4 and has real issues at the quarterback position. The Tar Heels are 0-3 SU&ATS in away game this season. Bet on Syracuse minus the points for my Saturday 10/20 free pick.

Purdue +12.5
The Boilermakers are worth a flyer on Saturday night.
This is a trap game for the Buckeyes here. The #2 ranked team in the nation just found out they've lost Nick Bosa and now they head into an atmosphere that could end up being a bit difficult.
Ohio State has struggled over the last 2 weeks against Indiana for 3 quarters and Minnesota for 4 and now will face a hungry Purdue team that has rattled off 3 straight wins.
Purdue's offense has exploded as of late, as this is one team that may be able to keep up with the Buckeyes.
Look for this one to be closer than expected and we could see Purdue open some eyes here.
Back Purdue.
Good Luck, Razor Ray.

10* FREE NCAAF PICK (Michigan State +7)
I'll take my chances with the Spartans catching a touchdown at home against in-state rival Michigan. This Michigan State teams relishes the role of the underdog really well under head coach Mark Dantonio. Going back to 2010, the Spartans have been a home underdog 6 times and have covered 5 of those. They are also an impressive 31-16 ATS under Dantonio when facing a top level team that has won more than 75% of their games and 22-9 under him when facing an elite defense that is allowing 17 or fewer points/game.
I believe the biggest key here is how the Michigan State defenses matches up with the Wolverines offense. Michigan’s offense has been centered around their running game under Harbaugh and it hasn’t changed with the addition of Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson. The Wolverines come into this game 93rd in the country in pass (207 ypg) and 28th in rushing (217 ypg).
That plays right into the strength of this Spartans defense, which leads the country, giving up a mere 62.3 yards/game on the ground. I know they gave up 205 yards on 31 attempts last week to the Nittany Lions, but they really had just two poor plays. Miles Sanders had a 78-yard run and a 48-yard run. That’s 126 of the 205 they allowed, meaning they gave up just 79 yards on the other 30 rush attempts (2.6 yards/carry).
I could see people pointing to the fact that Michigan State lost at home to Northwestern and Michigan beat the Wildcats on the road as a big argument for taking the Wolverines. The thing is, Michigan was very fortunate to beat Northwestern, as they trailed 17-0 early. I just think these are a lot more evenly matched teams than this spread suggests, as I think it should be closer to a field goal than a touchdown. Give me the Spartans +7!

After opening the Chad Morris era in Hog-Land with a 55-20 win over Eastern Illinois - yeah, I know, Eastern Illinois - Arkansas has not tasted victory again.
6 straight losses for the Razorbacks, but a closer look shows just a 7-point loss to Texas A&M, 31 points scored on number one Alabama, and just a 4-point loss last week to Ole Miss.
They Razorbacks are stepping out of conference today to face a Tulsa team that Morris is familiar with from his days at SMU. True, Ty Storey did leave the Hogs last game, but Chad Kelley did a pretty good job in relief, and let's face facts, the Razorbacks are not playing a powerhouse SEC foe today.
The Golden Hurricane have lost their last 5 after opening the year with a win over Central Arkansas, and while they have shown some resolve with Boomer under center, the fact remains Tulsa continues to turn the football over, and continues to collapse in the second half of their games.
Tulsa had the South Florida game in their grips, but collapsed 25-24 under the Friday lights at home. They have played 3 straight weeknight games, and my feeling is they let this one get away from them on Saturday afternoon.
Lay it with Arky.

North Carolina/Syracuse 12:20: Last week, NC outrushed and outplayed V Tech in all facets of the game except on the scoreboard. Turnovers and silly mistakes did them in. We will look for Fedora's bunch to be competitive here, however. NC is getting healthy bodies back and their defense is highly respectable with much of an improvement from a year ago. NC is 5-0 ATS after V Tech; moreover, under Fedora, NC is 12-1 SU / 11-2 ATS in regular season games vs an opponent who was upset in their previous game. I like the Tar Heels chances here.

Cincy has not lost this season, and comes into this one having just had a week off. The Bearcats last game was a 37-21 romp over Tulane on the 6th, and now they take to the road where they have already won and covered twice in the underdog role - at UCLA and at Miami-Ohio - to improve to 5-1-1 against the spread as the road dog.
Temple was down 17-7 last weekend at Navy before rallying for the 24-17 win on the road. The Owls did not have their top RB - Ryquell Armstead for that game, and while he is listed as probable for this game, just how much still is his ankle injury bothering him?
The Owls have failed 4 of their last 6 when laying points at home, and they will be challenged today by a Cincinnati defense that has only allowed 5 touchdown passes in their 6 games to date.
The Bearcats have been on the short-side in this series of late, as they have lost each of the last 3 meetings both straight up and against the spread. That includes a 34-13 thumping in Philly in their last visit in 2016.
If Cincinnati is for "real" - and I believe they are - then this is the game they must step up in. Temple does have a weeknight game at undefeated UCF on-deck for November 1st, and my guess is while the Owls may be primed for today's test against the ranked Bearcats, they will be more focused on ending the nation's longest winning streak in prime-time.
Triple-revenge works today for Cincy.
4* CINCINNATI

When last we saw Dabo Swinney's team on the field, they were beating up Wake Forest by a 66-3 count. Last weekend, the Tigers were idle, but so was today's opponent, the N.C. State Wolfpack.
Savvy coach Dave Doeren has his team standing at 5-0, and he does have a savvy redshirt senior quarterback in Ryan Finley who has been able to trade points in this series the past 2 meetings against Clemson teams that made it to the playoffs.
Clemson is just 2-4 against the spread in their 6 wins this year, and they did struggle in their 2 games against teams with established signal-callers - Texas A&M and Syracuse. The last 2 meetings versus the Wolfpack have produced a pair of "nail biters", as the Tigers have only been able to win each by a touchdown - 38-31 last year at N.C. State, and 24-17 the 2016 season at Death Valley - so either I am the biggest sucker in the world, or this number is just wrong!?!?
Don't get me wrong, the oddsmakers do not miss many lines, but with the 'Pack showing they are not fearful of this Tigers bunch (now 6-2 against the spread the last 8 series meetings), and with Clemson having failed all 3 to date this year at home (now just 7-11-2 as the home chalk since 2015) I will take my chances with the double-digit underdog this afternoon in South Carolina.
2* N.C. STATE
