My comp play for Thursday is Over the total in UNC-Miami.
Looking over the trends in this series you will see the last pair, and 5 of the last 6 between the ACC rivals have indeed held Under the total. Miami has also played 8 of their last 9 conference games Under the posted price.
I would think those facts have been considered when this total was posted, but after consideration, I don not see the Carolina defense which has allowed 33.3 points per game thus far to do enough to hold this Thursday night affair Under the total.
The Heels Nathan Elliott did lead his team to 38 points this past Saturday in UNC's 38-35 win over Pitt, as each of North Carolina's last pair of games have landed Over the total.
The Hurricanes did NOT land Over on Saturday, as Mark Richt did let D'Kosi Perry take the majority of snaps over senior Mailk Rosier. Does that mean that we have a QB controversy brewing? It was the first of Miami's 4 games to land Under the total. I have a feeling both quarterbacks will be raring to put points on the board.
I say we reach this total of about 7 combined TD's by the end of the 3rd quarter as this ACC battle lands easily Over the total.
2* UNC-MIAMI-FLORIDA OVER

Thursday comp play winner is Colorado to put the finishing touches on a 4-game sweep of the lifeless Phillies.
The Rockies have won the first 3 games over the Phillies, an they have done so by outscoring them 34-4!
The Phillies have flat-out thrown in the towel, as they have lost 7 straight now, and they have also dropped 23 of their last 30 games on the road.
Starter Jake Arrieta is winless over his last 3 starts with an ERA over 8, so chances the Rockies continue their sweet swinging look pretty darn good.
Colorado has won 9 of Anthony Senzatela's last 13 starts at Coors Field.
This one shapes up to be another blowout-rout.
Rockies on the Run Line your winner.
5* COLORADO -1 1/2 RUNS

Yes, for a fourth night in a row, I'm playing the Colorado Rockies against the Philadelphia Phillies. And with the moneyline opening high this morning - at 1.65 - I want you playing this game on the Run Line.
Though pitchers are automatically listed when making Run Line wagers, I am insisting you DO NOT worry about who the scheduled starters are. In the event of a scratch, you MUST re-wager the game with the new pitcher(s) who are scheduled. This play will stand no matter who pitches for either team.
The Rockies come into this one riding a six-game win streak, while the Phils have lost seven in a row. Momentum this late in the season is always a game-changer, and with the Rockies still in the hunt for a division title, their hunger will be just as strong as it's been the last two nights, sweeping the first two games by a combined final of 34-4.
Philly has obviously packed it in, being out of the race for good, but the Rockies are now a half-game in front of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West, and would be in the thick of the wild-card race if it dropped down. Trust me, the Rockies can taste the postseason and that's why they'll continue to hit the way we saw them hit the last three nights.
And with David Dahl hitting the ball well recently, I don't see how the Phillies will be able to contain the offense. Dahl has has 10 hits and is batting .256 over his past 10 games for Colorado, which also has Trevor Story, who has 34 home runs and 104 RBIs in 152 games for the Rockies.
The Phils, who have lost 23 of their last 30 on the road, are hitting just .195 during a 2-8 slump. They will struggle to hit the ball, even in Denver, where the Rockies have won 29 of their last 40 there.
Take Colorado tonight, and remember, pitchers do not matter.
3* ROCKIES RUN LINE

Thursday comp play is the Over in the Braves-Mets with Julio Teheran and Jason Vargas on the hill.
Last night was the Jacob de Grom show, as New York shut out Atlanta, 3-0, so I am sure the Braves bats will wish to get their licks in tonight against Mr. Vargas who sports a 4.80 ERA over his last 3 starts with 2 of those 3 landing Over the total.
Julio Teheran has a 3.86 ERA for his last 3 efforts, and 2 of those 3 have also landed Over the total.
Atlanta has played Over the total in 7 of their last 10 games, so let's look for the Braves bats to be ready tonight after last night's blanking.
Braves-Mets to play Over.
3* ATLANTA-N.Y. METS OVER

My free play for Thursday night is the Under in the National League East clash between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets, as the scheduled starting pitchers will put on a display tonight.
MAKE NOTE: All Run Line/Total plays automatically list pitchers with the starters who are scheduled to go at the time of the wager, and I want you to be sure the following pitchers are the starters of record on your ticket when making your play: Julio Teheran and Jason Vargas. If one or both of these pitchers is not going, this is a no-play.
Let's start with Teheran, who revived his candidacy for a postseason rotation spot when he took a more aggressive approach last Friday against the Phillies, and showed command of everything he did. The right-hander will have plenty of confidence tonight, as he boasts a 1.69 ERA in four starts against these Mets this season.
Meanwhile, after Vargas went 2-8 with an 8.75 ERA in his first 12 outings, he's looked good ever since. The left-hander is on a 4-1 run with a 3.11 mark, and will look to avenge a tough season against the Braves tonight.
Play this one low.
4* UNDER Mets-Braves (Vargas-Teheran)

MLB | Braves vs Mets
Play on: Mets +110 at sportsbook
1* Free Pick on New York Mets +110
New York shouldn't be a home dog to the Braves in Thursday's series finale. Atlanta has already locked up the NL East, securing them a spot in the NL Divisional Round. They just had their 6-game win streak snapped in yesterday's loss and I believe the focus now is just about staying healthy, especially after they just lost shortstop Dansby Swanson to a wrist injury.
New York has won 4 of 6 as they close out a disappointing 2018 season, so there's still some fight in this team. The even more important thing here is they have the red-hot south paw, Jason Vargas, on the mound. Vargas has gone 4-1 with a rock-solid 3.11 ERA in his last 11 starts.
Julio Teheran will take the mound for Atlanta and he's really struggled with his command of late. Teheran has walked 13 hitters over his last 3 starts, which has spanned just 16 1/3 innings. He's also got a very average 4.12 ERA in 13 road starts. Take New York!

MLB | Pirates vs Cubs
Play on: Cubs -154 at GTBets
10* FREE MLB PICK (Cubs -154)
I'll take my chances here with the Cubs at home in Thursday's series finale agains the Pirates. After dropping the first two games against Pittsburgh, Chicago came away with a 7-6 win in extra innings and in the process punched their ticket into the postseason. That only secured a Wild Card spot. The Cubs want the division title and they can move a full 1-game up on Milwaukee with a win in this one. They have just the guy on the mound to deliver the goods in Jon Lester, who has heated up down the stretch and comes into this one with a 2.55 ERA in his last 3 starts. Chicago has won 5 of Lester's last 6 starts against the Pirates. On the flip side of this, Pittsburgh has lost 4 of Trevor Williams 5 career starts against the Cubs. Williams has been throwing it well, but Chicago is 8-2 in their last 10 vs a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. They are also 38-14 in Lester's last 52 home starts. Give me the Cubs -154!

NFL | Vikings vs Rams
Play on: Rams -6½ -110 at GTBets
1* Free Sharp Play on Rams -6½ -110
My money is on the LA Rams to win and cover at home against the Vikings on Thursday Night Football. This might seem like a big price to lay with the Rams against a Minnesota team that a lot of people feel are right there with LA as one of the best teams in the NFC. While the Vikings are a solid team, this is a really tough spot for them. Not only are they playing on a short week of rest after that ugly loss to the Bills this past Sunday, but they have had to travel all the way to the west coast for this one. The loss of Everyone Griffen is huge for the Vikings defense, which was already going to have a hard time stopping this explosive Rams offense. I just don't see Minnesota's offense being able to keep pace in this one. Look for LA to easily win here by double-digits. Bet the Rams -6.5!
