1* Free Pick on Falcons/Saints UNDER

As difficult as it might be to take the UNDER in a game involving the Saints, there's just too much value here for me to pass up. I get these two teams combined for 80 points back in Week 3 at Atlanta, but it took a really crazy ending to that game to get to 80, as the two were siting on 37 midway thru the 3rd quarter. They put up 28 points in the 4th quarter and another 6 in OT.

I think having faced other once and how familiar these two teams already are with each other given they are division rivals, I'm willing to bet there's not nearly that much offense in this Thanksgiving showdown. Keep in mind they combined for just 37 with a total of 51.5 in their first meeting last year and just 36 in the 2nd meeting with an identical total of 51.5.

UNDER has cashed in each of the Falcons last two games and that's definitely worth noting, as the UNDER is 16-3 in Atlanta's 19 games under head coach Dan Quinn when coming into a game off back-to-back games that stayed under the mark set by the books. UNDER is also 9-1 under Quinn the last 10 times the Falcons faced a top tier team in the second half of the season that was outscoring opponents by 6+ points/game. Average combined score in those 10 games is 36.6. Take the UNDER!

1* Free Sharp Play on Redskins +7 +100

My money is on the Redskins to cover the touchdown spread against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. I think we are seeing an inflated number here with Dallas coming off back-to-back wins on the road and the Redskins off a home loss to the Texans, where they lost starting quarterback Alex Smith to a season-ending injury. I still have major concerns with this Dallas offense and this Redskins defense is more than capable of shutting them down. I also don't think there's a huge drop-off in talent going from Smith to Colt McCoy. I not only think Washington will keep it close, but I think they got a real shot at winning outright. Bet the Redskins +7!

Villanova vs. Canisius
Villanova-13½ -110

The College hoops comp play is on Villanova at 1:30 eastern. The Wildcats are off a terrible loss as a 16 point favorite in their last game their 2nd straight loss. Today they will take it out on Cansisius who is overmatched here and has lost 14 straight to Big East teams. Nova has covered 5 of 6 in neutral court games where the total is 145 to 150, 6 of 7 vs Metro Atlantic tams and the last 4 on Thursdays. Look for Villanova to cover.

Falcons vs. Saints
10* FREE NFL PICK (OVER 59.5)

We are seeing higher and higher totals, as the sportsbooks try to adjust to the new NFL and these high-flying offenses. While not every team can light up the scoreboard like the Chiefs and Rams did on Monday Night Football, the Saints are definitely on that level. New Orleans has put up 48 on the Eagles, 51 on the Bengals, 45 on the Rams and 30 on the Vikings in their last 4 games. They are averaging 39.4 ppg and 446 ypg at home this season. They have made good defenses look completely lost and I just don't think the Falcons are going to be the ones to solve the puzzle. Atlanta already had a crack at the Saints earlier this season and they gave up 43 and more than 500 yards of offense. The key here is Atlanta has the offensive fire-power to push this over the mark. The Falcons scored 37 on the Saints earlier this season in a game that had a combined 80 points on the board. I could easily see them hitting that mark again with both these defenses on short rest, but all we need is for them to get to 60. Give me the OVER 59.5!

They just played an Over on the 11th of this month at Soldier Field, Chicago winning it 34-22 in a game they kicker missed a pair of point-afters, and also a pair of field goals. That Over was the middle game of a Bears 3-0 Over roll that continued this past Sunday night when somehow they slipped Over the total at home against Minnesota in a 25-20 final.

For the year, Chicago is 7-3 Over the total, while host Detroit is 6-4 Over the total. On paper this one looks like another Over, but with defensive-minded head coach Matt Patricia probably not too happy with the loss to the Bears just 11 days ago, I am sure he has cooked up a few new looks to give the Bears who it looks like will go with backup quarterback Chase Daniel. Daniel will likely start this one since Mitch Trubisky injured his shoulder late in Sunday night's win over Minnesota. It will be up to the Lions defense to implement those looks and disrupt the humming Chicago offense.

In fact with the Lions a little bit lacking on the offensive side of the football - Tate traded, Johnson and Jones injured - it will be up to the defense to keep the home team in the game.

Detroit has played 3 of their last 4 games Under the posted price, as they have not been able to come up with more than 22 points in any of their last 4 games.

Prior to the Over the teams just played, 5 of the past 7 series meetings, including the last pair in Detroit had landed Under the total.

Chicago can score, and likely will score, putting this one close to the Over/Under mark, but in the end I believe we are falling just shy of the total today at Ford Field.

Bears-Lions start Turkey Day with an Under.

2* CHICAGO-DETROIT UNDER

If you are looking to sit down this Thanksgiving and see some points posted in this Washington-Dallas game, you should just search for a replay of Monday's Kansas City-Los Angeles game to get your offensive fill, because this Redskins-Cowboys tilt has the makings of an Under if you ask me!

Washington will turn the reins over to veteran back-up Colt McCoy who takes over for the injured Alex Smith. The Redskins did slip Over the total on Sunday at home against Houston, but Jay Gruden's team is on an overall 10-4 Under run dating back to last season. That mark includes their Week Seven home 20-17 Under against Dallas.

As for Dallas, they are 6-4 Under for this season, and 14-5 Under the total dating back to last season. The Cowboys will look to play percentage football and keep it in the hands of Ezekiel Elliott as they try to chew up the clock and keep the ball out of the hands of the Redskins.

True, prior to the Under meeting the first time the teams played, they had a stretch of 5 straight Overs played, but with McCoy now in for Smith, and Washington having scored 23 points or less in 8 of 10 this year, and Dallas not showing "light up the sky" prowess - 22 points or less in 3 of their last 4, and 7 of 10 on the season - this one looks to me like a game played in the mid 30's combined.

If they get to 38 combined, that would be pushing it I think. Play Washington-Dallas Under the total.

4* WASHINGTON-DALLAS UNDER

RAY CHADWICK

I realize Atlanta is just 4-6 on the year, and back-to-back losses at Cleveland and at home to Dallas the past 2 weeks have put the Falcons on the outside looking in of the playoff picture. I also realize that New Orleans has not lost since the opening week of the season, winning 9 in a row while covering 8 in a row, but laying double-digits (almost 2 touchdowns in fact) in this NFC South rivalry is something that has not happened since way back in 2009 when New Orleans won the Super Bowl! For what it's worth, the Saints did win both of those games, but they failed both as the double-digit favorites!

The Falcons are most definitely the inferior team, and they are still playing this season with injuries out the wazoo, but they have done a better job lately on the defensive side of the football, as they have allowed "just" 21 points per game over their last 4. They will need to play that kind of defense against a Saints team that probably saw Monday's offensive display put on by the Chiefs and the Rams and will want to post as many points as possible in front of the festive home crowd this Thanksgiving Night just for kicks-and-giggles.

New Orleans did score 43 in the first meeting with Atlanta back on Week 3, and they have scored 148 points their past 3 games, including embarrassing the defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles, 48-7 just this past Sunday. Drew Brees is having an MVP caliber season, and all of his weapons - Ingram, Kamara, Thomas and Smith - are in fine health, so the task Atlanta is facing is a daunting one. Still, 12 1/2 points!?!?!?

It's not like Matt Ryan is a stiff. It's not like Jones, Sanu, Ridley, Coleman and Hooper are stiffs either. Atlanta can score the football, and giving them 12 1/2 points is just not something I am 100% behind. Going to back the potent Falcons offense to find the "back door" just wide enough open for them to sneak in and steal the bacon.

Take the points in this bitter NFC South rivalry game, as the Falcons keep from being humiliated by the streaking Saints.

2* ATLANTA

NFL - Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints

Simply too many points here for it not to be a play on underdog Atlanta. The Saints have looked nearly flawless but this number seems an over reaction to last weeks results as NO made easy work of a Eagles team that had injuries in their secondary while the Falcons offense struggled to get into the endzone at home in a 22-19 loss to the Cowboys. These two met in September with the Saints winning in OT 43-37. Their slim playoff hopes could be done on Sunday but getting 13 is our Sunday free play.

The play is Atlanta Falcons +13 -110
