NBA | Nets vs Heat
Play on: Heat -3 -115 at sportsbook
10* FREE NBA PICK (Heat -3)
I'll take my chances here with Miami as a small home favorite against the Nets. I just think this is a good spot to jump on the Heat, who I have to believe are itching to get back on the floor after an ugly home loss to the Lakers on Sunday, where they let LeBron James drop 51 points on them. With that loss, Miami is just 1-5 in their last 6 and have lost 4 straight at home. This team is better than that and I believe Brooklyn is the perfect team to get back on track against. The Nets have lost 4 of their last 5 and just aren't the same team since losing Caris LeVert, who was arguably their best player early on. Brooklyn's defense has allowed 4 of their previous 5 opponents to shoot 50% or better from the field and hard to see that defense flipping the switch on the road. Give me the Heat -3!

Miami-Ohio could only score 13 points last week in their game at Northern Illinois, as the 13-7 final score marked the second in a row Under the total for the Redhawks.
Expect Miami to get some offense going tonight in their regular season finale against a yielding Ball State team that has allowed 45 points per game over their last 4 contests - 2-1-1 Over the total in those 4.
Drew Pitt has been filling in at quarterback for the the injured Riley Neal, and while he did guide the Cardinals to 42 points in last week's home upset win over Western Michigan, he also had 2 more interceptions! Pitt has been picked off 4 times in his pair of starts for the injured Neal, and you all know how turnovers tend to lead to points, which is another reason I prefer backing the Over at Yager Stadium.
As for Miami, Gus Ragland had helped his team post 30 points or better in 6 straight prior to getting bottled-up by a very tough Northern Illinois defense, as the Redhawks have played Over the total in 5 of their last 8 games this season.
Miami needs to win this game to become bowl-eligible, and I think Ragland will do his part in putting some big points on the board against the suspect State defense.
Play it over in Oxford on Tuesday night between Ball State and Miami-Ohio.

Tuesday night's comp play is the Clippers over the Wizards.
Things are not "groovy" in D.C. these days, as Bradley Beal has now been quite vocal about his displeasure with the way this season has gone to date. You couple that with John Wall having some choice words for head coach Scott Brooks at a recent Washington practice, and there is trouble brewing on the near horizon for this team!
Washington has followed their season-high 3 game win streak with losses in their last pair - both at home - to fall to 5-11 straight up on the year.
The Wizards are just 3-5 against the spread at home, and they will be facing a Clippers team that has been rolling heading into play this Tuesday night.
Los Angeles has won their last 5 and 7 of their last 8 straight up. They are also on a money-making 6-2 against the spread in those 8 games.
The Clippers will be going for - and getting! - the season series sweep, as back on October 28th they ran the Wizards off the court at the Staples Center, 136-104!
That win pushed the series numbers to 6-2 both straight up and against the spread in favor of the Clippers in the last 8 showdowns between the teams.
Things going too well for the Clips right now, and I say they add to the misery that the Wizards are going through.
Take Los Angeles on the road tonight.
2* L.A. CLIPPERS

Tuesday night comp play on the Over from Madison Square Garden when Portland and New York jump ball.
The yielding Knicks defense is the reason to look Over the total tonight, as they last time they held an opponent under 106 points is all the way back on October 29th.
New York has allowed some big numbers to be rung up against them, and the Over in their games has connected in 3 straight and 7 of their last 10 dating back to that game on the 29th of October.
Portland has played 2 of their first 3 on this road trip Over the total. The Blazers do won the #7th scoring offense in the Association, as they connect at over 114 points per game. With the Knickerbockers allowing as many points as they have recently, I would think the Trail Blazers will top their season average tonight.
As for New York, they are not too bad in the scoring department themselves, as they bring 107-plus points per game into this Tuesday showdown at the Garden.
I will look for the scoring to continue hot and heavy tonight as the Blazers and the Knicks send this one Over the total.
3* PORTLAND-NEW YORK OVER
