The Capitals are winning more than half my simulations for the season opener in St. Louis, making them a strong play at this attractive price. The Blues won both meetings last season but my projections show a turnaround Wednesday night.

Ohio State has dominated its first five opponents, but I question just how good those teams are. But Michigan State offers a different challenge. The No. 25 Spartans will be the Buckeyes' first ranked opponent, and Michigan State has a defense that's ranked seventh in the nation. My model says that the Spartans cover almost 60 percent of the time, so you're getting good value with Michigan State at this spread. Take the Spartans and the points.
