NCAA-F | Georgia Southern vs South Alabama

Take Under the Total in the game between the Georgia Southern Eagles and the South Alabama Jaguars. Georgia Southern (1-3) has lost their last two games after their 37-24 loss to UL-Lafayette last Saturday. The Eagles surrendered 440 total yards in that game while allowing the Ragin’ Cajuns to average 7.33 Yards-Per-Play. Georgia Southern should tighten up on defense as they have played 7 of their last 10 games Under the Total after allowing at least 7.25 YPP in their last game. The Eagles have also played 4 straight road games Under the Total as a favorite laying 10.5 to 21 points. South Alabama (1-4) has lost three straight games after their 30-17 loss at UL-Monroe last Saturday. The Jaguars are averaging just 8.7 PPG over their last three games — and they have played 5 of their last 6 games Under the Total after failing to score more than 20 points in their last game. South Alabama has also played 5 of their last 6 home games Under the Total against teams with a losing record on the road. Take the Under. Best of luck — Frank.

My free pick is on Felix Auger-Aliassime to take out Alexander Zverev in the 2nd of the 2019 China Open in Beijing. I just don't think this is anywhere close to as big a mismatch as the odds would suggest.

Zverev is ranked No. 6 and Auger Aliassime No. 20, so that's definitely playing into the number. These both are playing well in 2019. Zverev is 32-18 and Aliassime is 36-21. Both have strong record on hard surfaces, which is what they are playing on here. Zverev did win the only other meeting, but that was not played on a hard surface. Take Auger-Aliassime +185!

NCAA-F | Temple vs East Carolina

The College Football comp Play is on Temple at 8:00 eastern. The Owls are a pretty heavy road favorite here but have all the numbers in their favor. They are 7-0 ats after amassing 170 or less yards, covers in 5 of 5 on the road if the total is 42 to 48, 5 of 6 as a road favorite as well as 6 straight covers on this series. The last 3 of their wins over East Carolina have been by at least 24 points. East Carolina is a lousy 0-8 straight up and ats vs a winning team and has failed to cover 8 of 11 as a home dog and 6 of 8 off a win. They are also 2-10 to the spread after allowing 100 or less yards rushing with a 1-6 spread mark in Thursday games. Spread is a bit high to add to our unit rated card but Temple should still get the cover. The lead play tonight is the NFC West Game of the Month from 2 perfect systems and one is Thursday night specific. We also have a Powerful system play on the N.L.D.S. . For the Free play Take Temple as the Pirates are the ones walking the plank tonight. Rob- V- GC Sports

NFL | Rams vs Seahawks

Kicking off NFL Week 5 action on Thursday October 3rd we get the Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks from CenturyLink Field, in Seattle. This game will be broadcast on FOX & NFL Network. The Rams and Hawks both come into this game with matching 3-1 records. This game opened with the Rams a -1 point favorite but the public quickly bet that the other way and now the Seahawks are laying -2 at most books.

Yes I know straight up the Rams have won the last 3 matchups (2 of which were in Seattle), but what that doesn't tell you is how poor this Rams defense played in Week 4 action. They were awful, and to let the Buccanners score 55 points on them was an embarrassment. The Seahawks on the other hand took care of business in the desert with a nice win over the Kyler Murray led Cardinals.

Russell Wilson didn't have to be too special last week versus Arizona, but he was able to put together a 240 yard game with 1 TD. He's also now strung together 4 consecutive games with at least a 102.6 QB rating to go with 8 TD's and O INT's. Wilson is off to the best start of his career in just about every statistical category. His completion percentage, leads the league at 72.9%, and is the best of his career, so is his 118.7 passer rating, which puts him second in the NFL. His 8.6 yards-per-attempt average would also be a new career best if it continues.

Last week for the Rams Jared Goff set an NFL tying record for completions with 45. He also threw for 517 passing yards with 2 TD's and 3 INT's. The Rams do have more weapons on offense than the Seahawks with Kupp, Cooks and Woods all putting up great numbers. (All have more than 19 receptions and 290 yards each already), but in this game they'll be one-dimensional and that plays into the Seahawks defenses hands.

Some trends to consider. Rams are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games. The Seahawks are 7-0-2 ATS in their last 9 Thursday games, they're also 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, in their last 4, and they're 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in October.

This difference in this game should be the running-games. I'm expecting a healthy Chris Carson to put on a show after his 104 yard outing last week. The Seahawks D is Top 5 in the NFL vs. the run and we all know how Gurley doesn't like Thursday night games, so I expect they'll slow him down.

Back the Seahawks Thursday night.
