But they should have no problems winning this game with a defense that continues to play well and allows just 59.4 points per game. Nebraska's offense will struggle as the Huskers don't shoot well and are one of the worst free throw shooting teams in the nation. The Clippers are coming off a pretty rough stretch, for their standards, during which they lost two of four - both as favorites - and have failed to cover four of their last five. The Cavs may put up a fight in the first quarter, but look for the Clippers to eventually break this one open.

The Bucks have lost only one game to a team below .500 (San Antonio). They have 15 wins of 17 or more points this season, while the Knicks have only 11 wins, period. Rarely will a 16.5-point spread be justifiable at the NBA level, but this one feels about as safe as such lines come. Lay the points.

The 22-point margin of victory the Nets posted on Sunday against the Hawks belies the truth of the struggles they are likely to face for the next several weeks. The Nets, by record and most underlying statistics, got better without Kyrie Irving. While there were a variety of factors that led to that, fitting him back in with Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert is going to be difficult. Dinwiddie was one of the highest-volume pick-and-roll players in the NBA when Irving was out. He took only seven shots on Sunday. The Nets still have some offensive soul-searching to do. The Jazz have won nine games in a row. They aren't the team to do that soul-searching against. Utah covers.

The Virginia Tech Hokies and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons square off tonight in a key ACC contest at 6pm PT on the ACC Network. The Hokies under head coach Mike Young has been very impressive in the start of ACC play sitting at 3-2 in conference with their only losses to the defending national champions Virginia and arguably the best squad in the country right now, the Duke Blue Devils. The main reason for the Hokies success is on the defensive end of the court, in fact Va Tech has not let up more than 65 points since December 6th of 2019. Wake Forest will try to push the pace offensively under head coach Danny Manning, although after watching a bunch of the Demon Deacons games this season, one observation is their offensive tempo can be slowed dramatically by better defensive/slower tempo teams. This is something that is widespread in CBB, but even more so with Wake Forest. Va Tech will not be in a hurry at all, currently ranking as a 300+ team in adjusted tempo (Ranking pace of play, how fast or slow for each team). My numbers have this total set too high and I strongly recommend a bet on the under.
