Buffalo (7-5) kicks off the opening game of the 2019-20 bowls season coming off a 49-7 win over Bowling Green on November 29th. The Bulls have played 8 straight games Over the Total after a win by at least 40 points. The Over is also 9-1-1 in Buffalo’s last 11 games against teams with a winning record. Charlotte (7-5) comes off a 38-22 win at Old Dominion on November 30th. You won't find me backing many MAC teams in bowl games, but I just can't pass up a play here on the Bulls laying less than a touchdown against Charlotte in the Bahamas Bowl. The game is being played at Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau and is primarily used for soccer matches. It's your typical college football stadium with built up sides. That's worth noting as winds are expected to be blowing at 20 mph with gusts approaching 30 mph.

Throwing in these kind of conditions is extremely difficult, especially for teams like Buffalo and Charlotte who don't have big time talent at the QB position. That means it's going to come down to who can run the ball more effectively.

I believe the edge in that department has to go Buffalo. The Bulls averaged 254 ypg and 5.0 yards/carry on the ground and that's against opponents that on average only gave up 193 rushing yards/game. Buffalo's strong rushing attack will be up against a Charlotte defense that ranked gave up 193 ypg and 5.0 yards/carry (213 ypg and 5.2 ypc on the road).

49ers have a decent rushing attack of their own at 210 yards/game and 5.1 yards/carry, but will be facing a talented Bulls front 7 that ranked 4th in the country giving up just just 95 ypg and only allowed 2.9 yards/carry (74 ypg and 2.4 ypc on the road).

I just feel like Buffalo has the edge in the trenches on both sides of the ball and that will be enough for them to win here by at least a touchdown. Give me the Bulls -6.5!

Friday CFB Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Buffalo and Charlotte at 2 pm et on Friday.

I'll back the 'under' in Nassau on Friday afternoon as Bowl season kicks off with a rather uninspiring matchup between Buffalo and Charlotte. Both teams should be largely focused on moving the football on the ground, especially if windy conditions persist in the Bahamas (as they have the last couple of days). Neither starting quarterback in this matchup has shown any signs of being comfortable airing it out this season and that's unlikely to change here. While the Buffalo offense does boast an electric ground attack, we've seen this team get bogged down against lesser opponents at times this season. Meanwhile, Charlotte was involved in a couple of high-scoring shootouts this season but those came against much different opponents than the Buffalo squad it will face on Friday. Take the under (8*).

BOWL SEASON has arrived. Starts here on Friday in the Bahamas Bowl. Buffalo vs Charlotte. I know the line has come down several points. Everyone pointing to the wind. I look at 2 run heavy teams. I say - bring the wind. Maybe we get sloppy punts to set up easy scores? Maybe there isn't much wind. I'm bucking the under trend and saying this game might get to 40 by half-time!

I not only like the value here with the Kings as a road dog against Indiana, but I absolutely love this spot in terms of fading the Pacers. Indiana is coming off it's biggest win of the season Tuesday, as they held off the Lakers 105-102 at home.

Pacers admitted that was not just another game. With another monster game on deck at Milwaukee Sunday and the Raptors visiting on Monday, I have a hard time seeing Indiana being 100% locked in for this game against Sacramento.

As for the Kings, they do come in off a loss at Charlotte as a 5.5-point favorite, but I think they failed to show up more than anything. It should have them motivated to play well here. Also, Sacramento should keep getting better, as they just recently added two of their best players, Marvin Bagley III and De'Aaron Fox back into the rotation.

Kings are 27-11 ATS last 38 off a loss, 7-0 ATS last 7 games vs a team with a winning record and an incredible 12-2 ATS last 14 games as an underdog. Take Sacramento!
