NFL | Seahawks vs Packers
Play on: Seahawks +4½ -110 at Mirage

307 Seattle at Green Bay

Now that this line has risen to 4 1/2 in some areas it's time to step in with the Seahawks. When looking at advanced stats neither one of these teams are as good as their records. But we feel the Seattle offense will have a big day against this overrated Packers defense. The matchups for what Seattle likes to do play right in to what the Packers struggle with. Catching over a field goal here is a bargain.

Michigan vs. Minnesota
Minnesota-2

The NCAAB Comp Play for Sunday is on Minnesota at 1:00 eastern. The Golden Gophers have Conference tournament revenge from last season and are 17-2 as a home favorite and they have won 7 of 9 here this year. They are solid historically with conference revenge and Michigan has lot the last 4 as a road dog. Look for Minnesota to serve up some revenge here at home today. For the Free NCAAB Play. Make it Minnesota. Rob V- GC Sports

Clippers vs. Nuggets
Nuggets -1

The LA Clippers 27-12 (21-18 ATS) roll into Denver on Sunday evening for a matchup vs. the Denver Nuggets 26-12 (16-19-3 ATS). The Clippers are 10-8 on the road, the Nuggets are 15-4 in Denver.

The Nuggets come into this matchup Sunday off of a 111-103 loss to the Cavs on Saturday night. The last game prior to this match was the game against the Mavericks which the Nuggets held on to win by a slim one-point margin (107-106). The Clippers got a few days off to practice and rest their nagging injuries this week. They enter this match having played just once of late vs. the Warriors who LA defeated on Friday 109-100.

Second place in the Western Conference is up for grabs here, and I think the Nuggets will be to much for the Clippers Sunday when the Clippers are short Paul George. Last season, these two tipped off 4x with the Nuggets taking 3 of 4, with the two victories in Denver by a combined 48 points. I'm expecting a close game here with the Nuggets really getting up for this matchup on Sunday night.

Some trends to consider. LA Clippers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against Denver, are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games against Denver, and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games when playing on the road against Denver. Denver are 12-4 SU in their last 16 games, and 8-2 SU in their last 10 games against an opponent in the Western conference. Head to head the home team is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings.

I'm fading the public here, the Joker will run wild and back up his stats (Jokic averages 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists, and shoots 51% from the floor.)

Back the Nuggets -1.

Good Luck, Razor Ray.

For what it is worth - because it has not come up all that often - but Kansas City has never lost twice in the same season in the history or Arrowhead Stadium.

Houston as you probably know by now defeated Kansas City 31-24 as the +4 point underdog back on October 13th, and now the Texans will try and duplicate that feat nearly 3 months to the day later. I don't see it happening and I really don't see it being close when the game is finally decided.

The Texans were very, very lucky to escape at home (the only home Wild Card host to win by the way) last weekend when they allowed Buffalo to come into NRG Stadium and build a 16-0 lead in a game they eventually were able to win 22-19 in overtime.

You saw it happen in the Ohio State-Clemson college game and you saw it happen in the game I just referenced above...when you kick field goals instead of scoring touchdowns you are just asking to be beaten! Give Houston credit, as Deshaun Watson came up big in helping his team advance, but now the question is, how much does Houston have left in the tank after that game that sure looked like the Texans would be heading home in yet another postseason?

KC is NOT the same team that lost at home back in October to this Houston team. Back then Patrick Mahomes was playing on a very tender ankle and his offensive line was injury-wracked. Another BIG difference was the Chiefs defense which at the time was a work in progress and getting torched on a regular basis. Texans RB Carlos Hyde rushed that day for 116 yards.

Over the last 6 games to close the regular season, the Chiefs defense has tightened the screws as they have allowed a grand total of 69 points which translates to a tiny 11.5 points per contest. It is that improved defense that I feel can be a difference-maker in today's affair. That and the fact the Houston defense did allow 33 touchdown passes to be thrown against them this season which is 4th-worst in the league.

With Mahomes having last week off to refresh and recharge and with Andy Reid getting the extra week to flex his offensive chops, I think this game turns into a Kansas City runaway come the final seconds ticking off the clock.

Kansas City with the double-digit win and cover in this Divisional Playoff meeting at Arrowhead Stadium.

Big Ten comp play for Sunday on Michigan State to have a breakthrough in West Lafayette when they play today at Mackey Arena against the scuffling Purdue Boilermakers.

Purdue was able to beat-back Sparty 73-63 last January on their home floor, but the Boilers season last year was one for the record books, as Carsen Edwards and his lights-out shooting was in the line-up, as was Grady Eifert and Ryan Cline. That is not the case this time around and even center Matt Haarms is bothered by a hip injury and is questionable.

The results have shown, as Purdue is back home off back-to-back conference road losses including scoring a paltry 37 in a loss at Illinois and falling in two-overtimes at Michigan on Thursday.

Michigan State is rolling strong with 8 straight wins and covers in each of their last 5 wins, as senior guard Cassius Winston is playing out of his mind right now - 5 straight 20-plus points games including 27 in Sparty's most recent blowout win over Minnesota!

Bottom line; it's payback time for a lot of Big Ten teams that Purdue put the stones to last year, and Michigan State will be more than happy to put the stones to the Boilers here on Sunday afternoon.

The East Lansing crew makes a statement today as Purdue's offensive struggles continue.

Lay the small road wood with the Spartans.

For Sunday’s freebie, we’ll head to the college hardwood and lay the short price with red-hot Wichita State at UConn in American Athletic Conference action.

The Shockers not only enter this league contest having won eight in a row, but they’re 14-1 overall, with 11 of those being double-digit victories and another two by exactly 9 points. And while UConn is off to a solid 10-5 start, it has dropped two of its first three conference games, losing at Cincinnati (67-51 as a 3½-point road underdog) and at South Florida (75-60 as a 3½-point road chalk).

The Huskies did bounce back Wednesday with a 67-61 conference win over Tulane, but they failed to cash as a 10½-point home favorite. It was UConn’s third straight non-cover and fifth in its last seven games (during which time they’re 0-2 ATS as an underdog)

The only thing that gives me pause here is that Wichita has spent the bulk of this season at home—12 of the Shockers’ 14 wins have come on their home court. That said, they passed with flying colors in their only true road game, blowing out Oklahoma State 80-61 (as a 3½-point road underdog, no less). Wichita also obliterated South Carolina 70-47 as a 4-point favorite at a neutral site on Nov. 26 (followed a day later by its only defeat of the season, 75-63 to West Virginia).

Finally, aside from a 62-59 upset of Florida (as a 4-point dog) on Nov. 17, UConn hasn’t beaten an opponent of significance. One reason why: The Huskies struggle to score, having topped 70 points just once in their last seven games (and five of those were at home). Conversely, Wichita has been held under 70 points just twice in its last 13 contests, tallying 95, 80, 80, 73, 84, 75, 74 and 76 in its last eight (79.6 ppg).

Given how little road experience Wichita State has to this point, don’t be surprised if the Shockers struggle early on. But Greg Marshall is one of the best coaches in the nation, and by the middle of the second half, I fully expect his troops to have this game well in command

Hawks vs. Nets
1* NBA - Free Pick on Brooklyn Nets -6

I really like the value here with Brooklyn as a decently priced home favorite against the Hawks. The Nets were able to snap their 7-game losing streak with a 117-113 win at home against the Heat on Friday. Not only will Brooklyn be feeling good about getting back in the win column, star point guard Kyrie Irving is set to make his return.

While the Nets will be getting back a huge piece to their team, Atlanta's might be without Trae Young, who is listed as questionable. Either way, I like Brooklyn to have their way in this one. Hawks are just 4-17 on the road this season, where they are getting outscored by 13.4 ppg and are giving up a ridiculous 121.5 ppg.

Hawks are 6-14 ATS last 20 as a dog of 3.5 to 9.5 points, 2-7 ATS last 9 on the road and 1-5 ATS last 6 vs a team with a losing record. Take Brooklyn!

Hornets vs. Suns
Jack’s Free Pick Sunday: Charlotte Hornets +8.5

The Phoenix Suns shouldn’t be laying this big of a number against the Charlotte Hornets tonight. The Suns are just 4-11 SU in their last 15 games overall with all four wins coming by 8 points or less.

The Hornets are just 1-3 SU in their last four games, but they’ve played a brutal schedule with road games at Dallas and Utah, as well as home games against Indiana and Toronto. This is a big step down in class for them tonight and one they should be able to handle.

The Suns are 7-20 ATS in home games off a win over the last three seasons. The Hornets are 18-7 ATS in road games after having lost three of their last four games over the past three seasons. Charlotte is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of less than 40%. Bet the Hornets Sunday.

Michigan State vs. Purdue
10* FREE NCAAB PICK (Purdue +4.5)

I'll take my chances here with the Boilermakers as a home dog against the Spartans. There was some concern that Purdue big man Matt Harms wouldn't be able to go, but he's been upgraded to probable and with him I not only think the Boilermakers can cover, but I like them to win outright.

Michigan State comes in having won 8 in a row, but only two of those 8 games were away from home and while they covered in a neutral site against Oakland, they only won by 5 at Northwestern in the only true road game during this run. Spartans are a miserable 1-6 ATS away from home this season.

Purdue is 7-1 at home with the only loss coming by a mere 4-points to Texas way back in early November. In their last 4 at home they have beat Minnesota 83-78, Central Michigan 97-62, Northwestern 58-44 and Virginia 69-40.

Spartans are 1-5 ATS last 6 as a road favorite, while Purdue is 5-1 ATS last 6 at home vs a team with a winning road record and 8-1-2 ATS last 11 off a loss. Road team has also failed to cover in each of the last 4 meetings in the series. Give me the Boilermakers +4.5!

Sport/League: NHL
Date/Time: January 12, 2020 7PM EST
Play: Total Over 6.5 (-110)

We have two teams here that are on a back to back, and that tells us that there will be some tired legs on the ice tonight. This will also be the 3rd game in 4 nights for both clubs. As we always say tired legs leads to mistakes that leads to goals. The last time these two clubs got together the score was a 7-6 Tampa Bay victory. Now we do not expect that type of shootout but we do expect both these clubs to get OVER the 6 1/2 total. We love the fact that the Lightning only scored 1 goal yesterday, as good offensive teams will always score more in the next game on the back to back. The Devils are feeling good about themselves after putting up a 5 spot against the Capitals last night. That will give them good momentum for tonight. The fact that the Devils have gone OVER in 8 out of their last 11 games just solidifies our selection. So lets get the job done with the Tampa Bay/ NJ game OVER 6 1/2 as your free play for today.

CHRIS JORDAN

My free play for Sunday is on the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Arizona Coyotes, as I believe we're going to see the return of Sidney Crosby. The best player in the world has been skating since the team visited Las Vegas last week, and I happen to catch a glimpse of him skating like his old self during a workout.

Team officials said they expected him to return either Friday, in Denver, or today in Phoenix. I'm thinking today is the day.

It would be perfect timing for the red-hot Pens, who look to sweep a three-game road trip after a win over the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche.

The Penguins are 2-0-0 on their road trip, 6-1-1 in their past eight games and 13-3-1 in their past 17. They have gone 17-6-4 without Crosby, who as cleared for full contact and went through a full practice Saturday, has missed 27 games following core muscle surgery Nov. 14.

Today they face a Coyotes team that has been shut out in their last two games including a 3-0 loss across the country, at the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. Arizona just lost 2-0 at Pittsburgh on Dec. 6, when Tristan Jarry made 33 saves for the Penguins.

Jarry is 7-1-1 with a shutout in his past nine games and is expected to be in net tonight.

Lay the number.
