The Spartans return Cassius Winston at point guard to go with many veterans. They are ranked #1 to open the season and deserve that ranking. Coach Tom Izzo's team is loaded. Kentucky is loaded as well but mostly loaded with freshmen who may struggle until they have time to gel. Take Michigan State laying a few points on Tuesday night.

Big game right off the bat in ACC play, as Virginia Tech will head down the highway to play Clemson to open the 2019-20 season.
Both schools are going through rebuilds, but it is my belief that the rebuild that is to come in Blacksburg is going to take a little while longer than the rebuild in South Carolina.
It was a magical season last year for the Hokies under Buzz Williams who guided Virginia Tech all the way to the Sweet Sixteen of the Big Dance, but Williams left for bigger money to take over at Texas A&M and he happened to leave just as the team lost its top five scorers from last year's team, including forward Kerry Blackshear Jr. who transferred to Florida.
New coach Mike Young will take over after guiding Wofford to many a successful campaign, including the schools first ever NCAA tournament win last season. Young does have Isaiah Wilkins back for his sophomore season, and he did bring in a trio of freshman who have major upside, but this is a tough task right off the bat for this "new" team, and while Clemson is also down a ton of their scoring from last season, veteran coach Brad Brownell has brought in a pair of transfers from Tulsa and Alabama to help the Tigers reload.
Clemson has already lost a pair of players to torn ACL injuries in the off-season, but they do have forward Aamir Simms back to be the "step up" player this season, and they do have the home court advantage for this conference opener.
The Tigers stopped a 4-game series slide in the last meeting between the teams last February, a 59-51 home win as the -3 point chalk. A similar result tonight would be just enough to get us the cover, and that is what I am expecting.
Tech is going to take their lumps this season in the conference loop, especially on the conference road.
Lay the small wood with Clemson tonight.
