The Trail Blazers took a gut-wrenching loss last night in Utah, and now they come home where they have failed to cover three straight. PLaying on back-to-back nights is going to hurt the Blazers. I like the rested and improving Lakers who get the National TV game here on Thursday night.

Islanders at Capitals

The Islanders are coming off their highest monthly win total in 16 years. The Capitals are coming off their first losing month in two years.
But I see things getting reversed here. The Capitals have the superior goalie and firepower. The Capitals have been home since early Monday following a disappointing three-game trip. That's ample time for them to regroup.
The Capitals haven't been that far off. They went 1-2 on their Canadian trip with the two losses each coming by one goal.
Washington's best players have strong histories against the Islanders. Goalie Braden Holtby is 12-3-3 versus New York, Alex Ovechkin averages more than a point per game against the Islanders and Nicklas Backstrom has 33 points in 34 games versus the Islanders.

NY JETS (+3) over Buffalo
Bills keep winning despite being out-gained in almost every game thanks to the NFL’s best turnover margin at +14. Last week it was the Raiders who out-gained Buffalo 367-331 but FOUR turnovers cooked Oakland. Jet QB McCown likely to throw a pick or two but the Jets have played every one tough at home going a perfect 4-0 ATS and get revenge for a season opening 21-12 loss at Buffalo that was a lot closer than the final score indicates.J-E-T-S!
