WV/U Conn 8:00: We believe there is good value with the Huskies, which are coming off a blowout road loss to Louisville. The Huskies have been strong all year and sport a strong 9-1 ATS mark in the 1st of back-to-back home games. They're also a strong 6-1 ATS as a home dog and 23-5 ATS after scoring less than 20 ppg. We realize QB Michael Box won't play but Senior QB Zach Frazier, who started games last year and this year, is capable of leading this team on its strong home field. Furthermore, the solid Huskies' run game with RB Jordan Todman behind the experienced o-line should get going against a WV defense that's given up 4.5 ypg on the road. West Virginia's offense slipped at home vs Syracuse, as the Orange pressured Gino Smith into mistakes. We may see a blue-print of that defensive effort unfold tonight on this strong field against a pretty good U Conn defense. WV is a mere 2-5 ATS on Fridays and 3-7 ATS following an ATS loss. U Conn the call.

Sacramento benefited from having a huge edge in getting to the foul line in their opening night game at Minnesota. Their defense was horrible though, allowing a weak Minnesota line-up to put up 116 points and have high percentages shooting. New Jersey was able to get a good home win to open the season and Brooke Lopez and Devin Harris played well also. The Nets got good performance from their bench and they now have Jordan Farmar to bolster their bench play as well. Sacramento struggled mightily on the road last season, and I don't expect the Kings to win back to back road games to start the season. Sacramento will get back Tyreke Evans tonight, their best player, but I expect New Jersey to still get the win. New Jersey head coach Avery Johnson has already made a difference with this team, and new guard Anthony Morrow looked good in the back court as well. Look for New Jersey to get the home win and cover.

6* Raptors / Cavaliers Over 194
For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the "over":
The Cavs won their opener over Boston 95-87 and the total stayed "under" the number of 184 1/2.
It's important to note that dating back to last season Cleveland has seen the total go "over" the number in 6 of its last 9 on the road; also, over the last 2-seasons its seen the total go "over" the number in 7 of 12 off an upset win as an underdog.
On the other side of the court: The Raptors lost their home opener to the Knicks 98-93, the total staying "under" the number of 214 1/2 (I had the "under").
Dating back to last season the Raptors have in fact seen the total go "over" the number in 5 of their last 7; also over the last 2-years they've seen it go "over" in 48 of 76 when playing against a team with a winning record.
Bottom line: These are both teams staring over again as each lost its top scorer from a season ago (Bosh and LBJ); however these teams will struggle defensively for the most part all year and I expect each to push the temp of this contest; when taking into account the rest of the above factors, it all adds up to a 6* "TOP TOTAL" on the OVER!
