Philly got the win and non cover at home over Indy, 26-24, despite dominating the game from the line of scrimmage. They out rushed Indy 6.3ypr to 3.3ypr, out passed them 6.5yps to 5.0yps and out gained them overall, 6.4yppl to 4.6yppl. Washington is off their bye week and a 37-25 loss at Detroit. In that game, they played the Lions even, out rushing them 4.2ypr to 4.1ypr, even in the passing game 4.4yps and out gaining them 4.4yppl to 4.3yppl but they were sacked seven times in the game. Philadelphia averages 5.1ypr against 4.4ypr, passes for 6.3yps against 6.3yps and 5.8yppl against 5.5yppl overall. They allow 3.9ypr against 4.0ypr, 5.5yps against 6.2yps and 4.8yppl against 5.3yppl. Washington averages 4.1ypr against 4.3ypr, 6.0yps against 6.1yps and 5.3yppl against 5.3yppl. They allow 4.6ypr against 4.1ypr, 6.1yps against 6.2yps and 5.6yppl against 5.4yppl. Philadelphia qualifies in fundamental rushing situations, which are 387-245-18 and 481-310-21. Numbers favor Philly by four points and predict about 43 points. Philly has won here two of the past three yeas by 8 and 10 points. Washington did win in Philly earlier this year but Vick was hurt in that game. Against .500 or better teams at home this year Washington lost by three to Houston, defeated GB by three (came back late in that game and after GB suffered numerous injuries) and lost by three points to Indy in a game they trailed most of the way. Philly played two games on the road with Vick and destroyed Jacksonville 28-3 and gave up a big lead at Detroit to win by only three, 35-32. Philly is much better on both sides of the ball, has the situations in their favor and has value on their side. PHILADELPHIA 27 WASHINGTON 17

Detroit is playing their last game of their West Coast road trip tonight and has played fairly well, coming in two straight wins against the Clippers and Kings. I expect the Pistons to bring a good effort to close out their road trip successfully before heading home. Meanwhile, Golden State is playing their first game back home after a long five game East Coast road trip. This game will be their sixth game in nine nights as well. I expect the team to be less focused because of returning home after their long road trip. Also, this game will be their third game without forward David Lee, who has made a significant impact on their team this season. Detroit is 7-3 against the spread this season, mainly because they are being undervalued by the betting public. However, this team still has a core group of veterans and good scorers. Golden State has only beat one team all season by more than 7 points, and that was a very weak LA Clippers team. The Pistons have the edge in motivation as well as value, in addition a decent sized road underdog. Look for them to cover this spread and possibly win outright.
