Arizona Over (9) for 2 Units

Both of these starters have been ineffective and they should struggle tonight. Kennedy's had trouble on the road for most of the year; moreover, he gave up 4 ER in 4 innings at home to Washington on August 4th. The Nationals should jump on him here. AZ is 4-1-1 O/U on the road vs a team with a losing record. On the other hand, Jason Marquis' troubles continue on the mound as he tries to resurrect his career following arm surgery. Marquis, who has been working in the minor's for most of the season, has been torched to the tune of 22 runs over his last 20 innings in the major's. Arizona is 11-3 O/U on the road and 15-5 O/U following a loss. "Over" the call.

3* Los Angeles Galaxy at New York Red Bulls Over 2.5

This MLS match looks to go over 2.5. The LA Galaxy have allowed a goal in their last 8 matches and their last 5 matches have seen 3, 5, 5, 4 and 3 goals being scored.

This match is set for 6pm Saturday and both teams have offensive power with Landon Donovan, Edson Buddle, Thierry Henry (expected to be healthy) and Angel involved. There should be plenty of chances to score and last year's game at NY ended 3-1. All we need is a 2-1 score to go over the total and I like our chances for a goalfest.

Joseph D'Amico

San Diego/San Fransisco Under 7

These two teams have met 9 times this year, with just one contest going over 7 combined runs. Neither team is crushing the ball offensively. But the N.L. West’s 1st and 2nd place squads are both doing it with good, solid pitching. San Diego has Mat Latos on the mound. He is 8-3 on the road with a 2.46 ERA. The RH is 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA against San Fran TY. For the Giant’s, Madison Bumgarner gets the nod. Although struggling in his last few starts, the LH has an ERA of 3.51 on the season. In the battle for N.L. West supremacy, only 3 ½ games separate these teams. The UNDER is 17-5-1 in their L23 meetings, 5-0-1 in their L6 meetings in San Fransisco, 6-1 in Bungarner’s L7 overall, and 6-1 in Latos’ L7 starts vs. teams with a winning record. Take the UNDER.

Chicago -2½ over San Diego

The Bear’s are one of the NFL’S most anticipated and improved teams. They made a lot of changes in the off-season. They need to come out and show their opposition that they are for real. They are in a division with Green Bay and Minnesota, who are both highly-touted. Even Detroit will improve from last seasons record. The entire “Bear nation” needs and will get a win today. Take Chicago.

Fred Wills

White Sox -151 (5-Dime POD)

Not a lot of value on the board almost went with a few dogs, but I hate road dogs where there is a pitcher capable of a dominant performance at home. Here I really like the way Edwin Jackson has pitched coming back over to the American League with a 1.38 ERA in his 2 starts. Remember this is a guy with no hit stuff and the Tigers have really struggled over the past month without Magglio Ordonez going 7-23 in their last 30 and 5-17 in their last 22 vs. RH starters.

Porcello goes for the Tigers and it has not been good he's got a 7.02 ERA on the road and a 6.75 ERA night start. He's got a lifetime 10.80 ERA in 4 game starts (all losses) vs. the White Sox. White Sox are hot going 22-4 in their last 26 at home they are 31-12 in their last 43 overall vs. RH starters. Theya re hitting .247 with 5.33 runs per 9 in their last 5 witha 4.60 bullpen whiel the Tigers .254 with just 3.86 as they just can not manufacturer runs.

I am surprised to see this not a -200 line as we have the best home team arguably against one of the worst road teams as the Tigers are 16-36 in their last 52 road games and 3-13 in Procello's last 16 road starts

1* PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Pittsburgh has a 3-QB rotation going in Game One... in which ALL three guy~s are fighting for the STARTING spot in the regular season when Big Ben has to take a seat for 4 (or 6) games since he was a bad boy in the off-season. Look for Charlie Batch, Dennis Dixon, and Byron Leftwich to do whatever they have to do (AIRING it out!) in order to put up some gaudy numbers and impress the Steeler coaching staff.

Also helping to make our case are some pretty solid individual team ATS trends. The STEELERS are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 pre-season GAME ONES. And that includes a PERFECT 3-0 ATS under the Mike Tomlin regime. In '07, they beat New Orleans 20-7 as favs of -3 points. In '08, they beat Philadelphia 16-10 as a dog of +2 points. And last year, they beat Arizona 20-10 as a fav of -3 points. In all home games, the Steelers are 7-3 ATS in the last 4 years. Detroit has gone 1-3-1 ATS in all GAME ONES in the last 5 years...

1* HOUSTON / ARIZONA UNDER

If there is a home UNDERDOG going in Week One, then you know that we will be on the "UNDER". If you read my article in issue #1 of the 2010 Playbook football newsletter, then you know where I'm coming from. This will be the case tonight in Arizona, as Houston comes in as a road favorite of -1.5 to -2 points... with an OU Line of 33 to 33.5 points.

4-15 O/U since 2001: All NFL pre-season games in which the home team (Cards) is an UNDERDOG... and the OU line is LESS than (<) 34 points. In the last 8 seasons, these games have gone 2-10 O/U. When we focus on the first TWO weeks of the pre-season, the numbers are actually sharper: 1-8-1 O/U for all home dogs in Week ONE or TWO when the OU line is < 34 points. It also doesn't hurt us that Ari~zona is 1-6 O/U in all GAME ONES in the last 7 years.

1* TENNESSEE / SEATTLE OVER

We close things out in the Pacific Northwest, with the Seahawks hosting the Titans. Seattle has gone an amazing 6-1 O/U in all pre-season home games in the last 4 years, and a PERFECT 4-0 O/U in the last two years. And with an average of 46.5 PPG, that's a nice OU 'cushion'. Meanwhile. Tennessee's road numbers are just as amazin'. The Titans are 9-2 O/U on the pre-season road in the last 5 years... and 7-1 O/U in the last 4 years... with an average of 42.6 PPG.

30-11-2 O/U last 4 years: All NFL pre-season home favorites... wiith n OU line in the range of 34.5 to 35.5 points (Seahawks). If these host are significant favorites (-3.5 or greater), the results shoot up to a very impressive 9-1-1 O/U. I'm all in!

Cincinnati Kid

2* HOU / ARI Under 33.5

Cardinals open the 2010 NFLX hosting the Texans looking to start the season on a winning note after a winless pre-season in 2009. Arizona 0-4 last year and plenty of fresh faces in line-up this year...NFL clubs posting an 0-4 effort the previous year are 4-20 UNDER in Game 1 the following season...with an UNDER in the Carolina-- 0-4 LY--Baltimore contest on Friday evening. Cards 1-4 UNDER last 5 NFLX Home openers.

1* St Louis Rams - 2

The Rams are super excited to play this game tonight and we will play on the focused St. Louie Rams -2 to pound the Vikes @ home tonight. The preseason has been buzzing for the Rams as coach Steve Spagnuolo will have his D ready to swarm Tavaris Jackson and the crew of poor Vikes Qb's. Let's ride the sharp action Saturday night and play on a focused Rams crew as the corner's & receiver crew for the Vike's are super thin! Rams get the win and cover tonight!!!

1* Parlay - Washington Nationals & Over 9

Let's break this same gamer down as the Nat's will keep is going today as they won last night and behind J Marquis they Cover again!! The Nationals 50-66 over all & have the mojo to continue to move forward and play hard under Skipper J Riegleman! Marquis is finally healthy and he will look to get a much needed W at home tonight. Let's fade the Zona hurler Ian Kennedy (6-9, 4.47), and he brings a 3-6 overall & a 6.44 ERA in his last 10 ball games. Rz will roll the Nat's and Over as runs will be scored tonight. The R Zimmerman .347 BA & Ian Desmond .362 show are crushing the baseball right now!! The Nat's are hitting and tonight's Nat's & Over 9 Parlay
