Cannot back Michigan here, NO run defense and the Bulldogs use a power triple option with a running QB and they pound out 4.8 yards per carry. Michigan lost to every decent team they played this year except U Conn in their first game of the season. With a defense this deplorable against a well coached Bulldog team who has seen some tough SEC teams, I side with the team who runs the hell out of it. Play 1 Unit on Miss State

While this is undoubtedly the worst pairing of all this year's BCS bowls, one guy who won't be complaining is Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops. Having gone 2-5 SU lately in bowl games, Stoops can pacify Sooner nation with a bloodletting against an overmatched foe here. To that we say 'not so fast my friend'. Big East bowlers have owned the Big 12 since 2001, going are 4-0 SU and ATS. They've also gone 4-1 SU and ATS versus winning opponents in 2010 while Big East bowl dogs of 4 or more points are 6-1 ATS against a foe off a SU win. Big 12 bowlers, though, are a shocking 0-6 ATS as chalk of more than 6 points in BCS games. As noted, the Sooners haven't excelled in the postseason; they're 0-4 ATS in their last four bowl games - and 0-5 SU and ATS in their last five BCS bowl appearances. Our database chips in with this nugget: bowl dogs of 7.5 or more points who gain more than 4 yards per rush are 18-5-1 ATS versus opponents that do not gain 4 YPR. The clincher, though, is the fact that bow underdogs off a win that own a positive bet YPR for the season taking on an opponent off a win that owns a negative YPR for the season are 18-0 ATS in bowl games since 1980, if they scored more than 14 points in the win and won the game by 30 or less points. The Huskies embarrassed South Carolina in last year's bowl outing and head coach Randy Edsall will have his sled dogs fully focused here tonight. We recommend a 3-unit play on Connecticut.

The Gator Bowl is indeed a HIGH-scoring game... particularly as of late. Try 6-1 O/U in the last 7 seasons. Throw in a couple of very good offenses on Saturday, and it looks like it will be 7-1 O/U! Michigan games have seen an average of 68.1 PPG thus far in 2010. That includes 34.3 ppg on offense for the Wolverines.... and 33.8 ppg for this POOR defense. Once we get to the Bowl games, it's ALL about the 'OVER' for Michigan. The Wolverines have gone a PERFECT 4-0 O/U in their last 4 Bowl games, with an average of 67.3 ppg. They've also gone 8-1 O/U in the month of January... 6-1 O/U vs the SEC COnference... and a PERFECT 5-0 O/U after allowing 450+ yards in their last game (lost to Ohio State). On the flip side, Mississippi State enters the Gator Bowl having scored 21 PPG in each of their last 2 games (vs Mississippi and Arkansas). In terms of post-season play, we note that SEC Bowl favorites of > 4 points have gone 12-2 O/U.
