4* TROY -11.5 over north Texas

The Trojans are the best team in the sunbelt and are coming off probably their worst loss of the season as the offense was just off. That was just the first time they scored less than 30 points this year. The Trojans have the #18 passing offense in the country. QB Corey Robinson has thrown for more than 250 yards in every game except last week. Coming off such a poor performance this Troy team should be chomping at the bit to get back on the field. The mean green are 0-4 SU & ATS at home this year and only have two wins on the year versus a couple other bottom feeders in the sunbelt. The mean green will want to run the football here as their passing game is non-existent since their top two Qb's have went down. They have not thrown for more than 200 yards in any game and troy does have the #1 defense versus the run in the sunbelt. I like troy here to bounce back with a strong effort after last weeks game. Troy 38 North Texas 16!!!

3* KANSAS +9 over Colorado

Both these teams have been pretty bad so it is puzzling that the buffaloes who are just 1-3 SU & ATS on the road would be laying 9 points here. The buffaloes have been hit with tons of injuries especially on the offensive line. I know the Jayhawks have been bad as well and have been blown out in their last 2 home games but they showed a little resolve last week in putting up a game effort against the cyclones on the road. I look for this one to be close as well and i will take the points as i believe 9 is a little much here. Colorado 27 Kansas 23!!

3* FLORIDA -14 over Vanderbilt

The gators after dropping 3 straight for the first time since 1988 rebounded last week at Georgia to get a win as the gators put up the most total yards against the bulldogs this season as coach urban Meyer had his gators go with a more uptempo offense and it paid off. The gators are probably the healthiest than have been all season. As bad as the season may seem for that gator nation a win here today and next week and they will play in the SEC title game. The commodores are the worst scoring team in the conference and were killed last week by the Razorbacks. Arkansas had 555 yards of offense to Vanderbilt's 153 and the commodores have been outscored 88-3 in the second half this season. The gators offense seemed a lot better last week and with something to still play for should have no problem getting rid of Vanderbilt once again....Florida 45 Vanderbilt 17!!!

2* UTAH +5 over TCU
1* UTAH ML +175
1* UTAH/TCU UNDER 51

This should be a very good hard fought game as the horned frogs have the #1 defense and are allowing just over 8 points a game. Do not under estimate this Utah club as they are very good defensively as well ranking #6 in the country allowing only 12 points a game. This will be the toughest test for tcu on the road here at Utah with a energetic crowd with tons of enthusiasm. I mentioned this will be the toughest defense the horned frogs have faced so it will be interesting to see how well this offense moves the ball versus a top flight defense. This should be a very good game here. Utah 24 Tcu 21.......

40 Dime - TCU

You gotta be pretty damn good if you’re laying points – and sigaificant points – on the road against an opponent that’s A) 39-4 in its last 43 games; B) 8-0 this season; C) ranked fifth in the country; and D) riding a 21-game home winning streak, including four wins this year by an average of nearly 35 points per game. Well, TCU (9-0) isn’t just “pretty damn good”; the Horned Frogs a freaking great, and Utah is about to find out how great this afternoon.

There are a lot of ways I can prove to you how dominant TCU has been this season, but let’s stick with three main points:

First, since knocking off a very good Oregon State squad 30-21 in the season opener, the Horned Frogs haven’t won a game by fewer than 17 points and seven of their nine victories have been by minimum of 27 points.

Secondly, since the Mountain West Conference portion of their schedule started, the Horned Frogs have put up 189 points in five games and given up exactly … 16 points! Those five opponents have been outgained by the following yardage totals: 333, 331, 234, 387, 313. Notice that I’m not saying those figures represent TCU’s offensive output over the last five games; I’m saying the Frogs have outgained their first five conference opponents by a total of 1,598 yards!

Third, this is as complete a football team as there is in the nation, with a balanced offense (214.8 passing ypg; 270 rushing ypg) led by a four-year starting quarterback in Andy Dalton (1,887 passing yards, 404 rushing yards, 21 total TDs, 5 INTs) and a suffocating defense that yields just 8.7 points and 217.3 total yards per game and has forced 14 turnovers.

Now, without question, Utah has been fantastic this season, too. And as I pointed out up top, the Utes have been a force for more than four seasons, especially in Salt Lake City. And like TCU, Utah has tremendous numbers on both sides of the football. It’s just that while TCU has run up against four quallity teams this season (Oregon State, Baylor, SMU and Air Force), Utah has been tested only twice … and both times the Utes barely came away victorious. They started the year with a 27-24 overtime home win over Pittsburgh, and then last week they barely held off Air Force 28-23 as a 6½-point road favorite, getting out-yarded 411-327.

Now, you could argue that Utah last week got caught looking ahead to this showdown with TCU, but I’m not buying it because the Utes are very much aware that the Falcons are a solid football team. That wasn’t a look-ahead by any means; Utah simply struggled with a very good opponent – the same opponent that a week prior went to TCU and got killed 38-7 and outgained 562-231. In fact, the Horned Frogs outrushed Air Force – one of the nation’s top rushing offenses – 377-184, and the Falcons needed 41 carries to get those 184 yards; last week against Utah, Air Force had 210 rushing yards on 41 carries and held the Utes to 179 rushing yards on 51 carries.

Yes, there are some who buy into the revenge angle, as Utah is looking for payback after getting destroyed 55-28 at TCU last year as a 20-point underdog. But I’d counter that argument with the fact that the Horned Frogs have some unfinished business against the Utes. See, two years ago, TCU Frogs went to Salt Lake City to face then-undefeated Utah and pushed the Utes all over the field for 58 minutes. However, because of two missed field goals in the second half, TCU led just 10-6 when Utah went on a lengthy perfect-season-saving drive, scoring the winning touchdown with 47 seconds left. Despite that drive, the Horned Frogs outgained Utah 444-275 that night, including 193-45 on the ground. Then in last year’s 27-point drurbing in Fort Worth, TCU put up 549 yards (342 rushing) and allowed just 284 (65 rushing).

I’ll do the math for you: In the last two meetings, the Horned Frogs have outgained Utah 993-559, including 535-110 on the ground!

I’m telling you, TCU could play with – and beat! – ANYONE, and I mean anyone, in the country. The Frogs are THAT good. And while Utah has an outstanding football team and while Salt Lake City is a very tough place for visitors, the Utes simply don’t have the firepower to compete with this opponent. And anything less than a double-digit win for TCU would absolutely shock me.
