SquaresWanted Sharp - Ivan Laflare

4 stacks
Auburn (4-0) at Tennessee (2-2)
Play: Auburn +2.5

Reporters constantly argue that the SEC is the strongest conference in college football. From top to bottom the SEC of full of explosive quality football teams. Tonight two SEC teams will meet up in Knoxville, Tennessee. Auburn travels to to Tennessee to put their undefeated record on the line. These two teams are the complete opposite. The Auburn has a very strong offense that produces over 500 yards and 45 points a game. The Tigers are very hard to game plan for because they have a balanced rushing and passing attack. Star safety Eric Berry will have his hands full today trying to slow down the Auburn's passing attack. Auburn's QB has 11 touchdowns under his belt. Chris Todd is one the most underrated players in the NCAA football; he leads the 3 highest scoring offense in the NCAA and he only has 1 interception. Tennessee has been very disappointing this season. After all the trash talking done during the off season by head coach Lane Kiffin, we expected the Vols to at least be ranked in the top 25. Tennessee's defense has been their life line so far this season. The Vol's offense hasn't done anything, QB Jonathan Crompton is having a terrible senior season. Crompton has thrown more picks than TDs. Auburn has blown out almost every opponent this season. They also are 3-1 ats the so far this season. Also the Vol's haven't beaten the Tigers since Oct. 2, 1999, that's ten years from today. The Tiger offense will fun laps around a Vols team that will have trouble moving the ball.

SquaresWanted Sharp- Kyle Brown

Florida St. (2-2) vs Boston College (3-1) 3:30 pm
5 Stars Over 46

Seminoles quarterback Christian Ponder already has over 1,000 passing yards and four passing touchdowns. Ponder currently leads the ACC in total offense (291) and passing (270) yards per game and also has two rushing touchdowns. The Seminoles also have two other rushers ( Ty Jones, Lonnie Pryor) with two touchdowns a piece. Florida States defense keeps getting burnt on deep passing plays therefore giving up huge yards per game. They rank 115 out of 117 division 1-A teams on pass defense, and 99 in total defense.
Last week Boston College's running attack came back opening up opportunities for 25 year old freshman quarterback David Shinskie, he completed 18-29 for 228 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in his first college start. Montel Harris and Josh Haden combined for 169 yards on the ground. With these three doing what they do against a shaky defense its not even a question that 46 points is not close to what this game is going to be.

Penn St. (3-1) vs Illinois (1-2) 3:30 pm
5 Stars Penn St. -7

Penn St. has not had consecutive losses since games four and five of the 07 season. The Lions receivers have made plays when called upon and Evan Royster has been great when giving room to run. Last year quarterback Daryll Clark completed seventy percent of his passes against a more fortified Illinois defense. Penn St. defense has been stellar allowing opponents only 2.4 yards per carry this season. Clark has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns while runningback Evan Royster has four touchdowns.

Illinois defense had to break in six experienced starters as it was, two at each level of the defense. Then cornerback Miami Thomas hurt his knee in preseason and middle linebacker Martez Wilson suffered a season ending neck injury in the season opener. This leaves alot of inexperienced players running around trying to find where to go in this 4-3 alignment. The Buckeyes werent able to throw the ball last week but the Illini's defensive line couldnt stop Ohio States run game. Considering what Missouri and Illinois State did to Illinois through the air and how the Buckeyes ran over them then Penn St. should be able to choose how they want to win the run or the pass.

4 Unit Play. Take the Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over the Florida Marlins

The last time Sanchez faced the Phillies he dominated them winning 3-0 at home. He went eight innings and did not yield a run as he gave up just two hits in the outing. Granted, he now has to face the Phillies on the road who will look to get some revenge from that beating they took at his hands. In the same token, Cole Hamels looks to fine tune himeslf prior to the playoffs as his last start was a bit shaky as he gave up six runs in less than seven innings of work as Houston went on to win the game 2-8 in Philadelphia. In fact, the last two starts for Hamels has been a bit shaky including his no decision at Florida recently when the Marlins ended up winning that game 6-7. I like the Phillies and Hamels to do well here at home as they tune up for the playoffs.
