Jack Howard

20 Dimes Pitt -7

"I felt we really executed that Pitt offense, the high-octane offense that we have here. We finally did it." --Pitt head coach Todd Graham's remarks after they beat 16th ranked South Florida. Ever since the loss at Iowa, Pitt is a team that has improved significantly on both sides of the ball. Last week against South Florida, the Panthers put up 523 yards of total offense which attributed to 44 points. Pitt running back Ray Graham finished the day with 226 rushing yards and 42 yards receiving, while Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri went 22 of 33 for 216 yards and 0 INT's. Defensively, the Panthers made major strides as well. Two weeks ago they held Notre Dame to 15 points, and last week they held South Florida, who was averaging 45 points per game, to only 17. My only concern for Pitt in this match up is that Rutgers likes to blitz early and often. If Sunseri can get rid of the ball quickly and make good decisions, I think Pitt will not only have success on the ground but through the air as well. Prediction: 37-20 Pitt

10 Dimes Iowa +4.5

Which quarterback will the Joe Pa go with today...or does it even matter? I really have no idea why Penn State is giving so many points in this match up. Here is three reasons why Iowa will not only cover but win this game. 1. Penn State's offense is atrocious. The Nit's managed to score a measly 16 points last week against Indiana, and two weeks prior they struggled to put up 14 on Temple. 2. Iowa has a recipe for success every year against Penn State. The past nine contests, Iowa has won eight of them including a 24-3 victory last year. 3. Iowa still has a good offense. In their last three games, the Hawkeyes have averaged over 40 points per game and quarterback James Vandenberg has thrown for 876 yards with 8 touchdowns and only 1 INT during that stretch. Prediction: 20-17 Iowa

Additional Selection:

10 Dimes Oklahoma -10.5
