ASA

Ohio State at Nebraska
Pick: Nebraska -10

The Huskers host Ohio State on Saturday night it what will be their first Big Ten home game. We expect a great effort and game plan after last week’s debacle @ Wisconsin. The Blackshirt defense was embarrassed at Camp Randall Stadium as the Badgers racked up nearly 500 yards of total offense. The Nebraska defense will look much better this Saturday against an Ohio State offense that is pedestrian at best. The Buckeyes have scored 7 points or less in two of their last three games. The passing attack is nearly non-existent. The QB duo of Braxton Miller and Joe Bauserman has completed only 23 passes in their last three games COMBINED! After the game "interim" head coach Luke Fickell said he was so disappointed with his QB play he may just open up the competition and let every QB on the roster battle it out this week. He back tracked a bit after that and said Miller (a true freshman) would probably remain his starter. If so, it will be Miller’s first road start of his career against an angry Nebraska team is a very tough environment. The Buckeyes have now lost two of their last three games getting smoked at Miami FL a few weeks ago and then losing at home to Michigan State last week. Keep in mind, neither of those opponents are "top notch" in our opinion as Miami already has two losses to Maryland and Kansas State while MSU was dominated by Notre Dame a few weeks back. Since their win over a terrible Akron team, OSU has been outgained by 312 yards combined in their last four games. The only team during that stretched that the Buckeyes out yarded was Colorado and that was by only 22 yards. Ohio State does get a few suspended players back for this one, but RB Herron, WR Posey, and RB Hall each got a game added to their suspension and won’t be available on Saturday. The Huskers have always been a dominant home team with an amazing SU record of 184-26 dating back to 1980. QB Taylor Martinez isn’t a great thrower, however he is better than what OSU is putting under center and actually brings the more diverse offense into this game. Nebraska struggled last week with Wisconsin’s running game, however that was because the Badgers kept them off balance and opened it up with the pass behind Russell Wilson. OSU can’t do that. Nebraska will be able to key on the run here and have a much better defensive outing. Memorial Stadium will be in a frenzy and the Huskers rebound with a big win.

Rangers / Tigers Over 7.5

These are two big name pitchers, but they are starting to wear down here at the end of the season. Neither pitcher has looked good in the last few games and I expect one of these teams to have a big inning early. The winner of this game will probably score 8 runs themselves. Take the Over.

Marshall +19.5 (2 Units) - We hit an outright win with Marshall last week. Marshall has impressed us tremendously particulary on the defensive side. They have covered in 4 out 5 games because they don't give up. CFU will not lose this game especially coming off the bye but we feel they will have their hands full with Marshall.

Stanford -29.5 (2 Units) - Stanford has been spectacular all season going 4-0 Straight up and ATS while averaging 45 ppg. Their defense hasn't allowed 20 points in any one game and this spells bad news for Colorado. They managed to play Cal tight but lost by 20 to a less than stellar Ohio St squad. Stanford will hit early and often and should cover this number.

NHL

Capitals/Hurricanes Under 5.5 (2 Units) - We are 2-1 so far in hockey. The Caps play very good defense which should carry over from last season. Carolina got hammered in the first game against Tampa so we expect a better showing by Cam Ward this time around.
