This game is about two teams that are much different from last season. Florida absolutely dominated Kentucky the last three seasons but now they are in a position to finally be competitive against them. Quarterback Mike Hartline has looked excellent this season, posting a 72% completion rate and throwing five touchdowns with no interceptions. Florida’s offense is nowhere near as potent this season, making it harder for them to beat teams by margin. This season, despite playing weak opponents so far, haven’t scored 40 points. In addition, the Gators have their biggest game of the season looming next week against Alabama. The Wildcats have been a great point spread team in the SEC as a big underdog over the last few years. Florida is also without one of their best players in Chris Rainey. This game will arguably be the biggest for Kentucky this season, while Florida could care less. They will want to have a vanilla game plan anyway so that they don’t give anything away to Alabama for next week’s game. Look for Kentucky to keep this game very close and challenge for the win late.
