4 Unit Play. Take Under 8 between St. Louis Cardinals @ Colorado Rockies

These two teams are two of the best in the league and these games mean a good bit to the Rockies who look to stay ahead of the surging Braves. The Cardinals won a big game yesterday and they look to have Wainwright bounce-back given his last few starts. Wainwright has pitched 9 of 10 quality starts and continues to roll along and although he fell short over his last two starts, he will look to seek the win here. Wainwright has given up just four runs over the last 21 innings and he continues to pitch very well for the Cardinals as he along with Carpenter are both seeking the Cy Young. Despite pitching back to back quality starts, the Cardinals lost back to back starts in which Wainwright has hurled in. Jiminez needs to have a quality start as well today at home as he looks to help his team win once again at home. The Under is 5-1-1 in Wainwright's last seven starts and the Under is 7-1 in Jiminez's last 8 starts as a favorite.

400♦ GEORGIA BULLDOGS - While it seems like everyone is playing the Miami Hurricanes today, I'm go to ignore the high-profile contest and take a look at what should be a steal down in Athens, Georgia tonight.

I know that Arizona State ranks No. 1 in the nation in total defense, but let's be real, the Sun Devils have yet to face a credible opponent. They beat Idaho State 50-3, and this is a team that ranks 113th in rushing offense, 109th with its passing offense and 117th with its total offense. Then ASU beat up on Louisiana-Monroe, 38-14, and that's a team that has the 84th ranked passing offense and is ranked 53rd overall on offense much in part to a 37th-ranked rushing game.

With the Bulldogs, ASU is getting a team that is averaging 34.3 points per game and is generating 365 yards per game. UGA has traveled to Oklahoma State, hosted South Carolina and then hit the road to visit Arkansas.

Now while some might say the Bulldogs have LSU on deck, or might question their defense ... I don't worry about either factor.

First of all, Mark Richt is too smart to let his Bulldogs look past a team that is coming into Athens with revenge on the brain; and as for the defense, well, this could be the right spot for it to all come together for the Dawgs, as Arizona State's offense is the biggest concern with an unsettled issue on the offensive line and no clear-cut running back to carry the workload.

If ASU even has a chance in this game, it's going to need big plays from its defense. And from what I've seen, Georgia is an explosive offensive team and can hurt a team like ASU through the air, especially since its biggest question mark on defense is its secondary.

We may hang around the number for a bit, but by the end of the third quarter the Devils will be deflated and the Dawgs will pull away for the big win and cover

I think Urban Meyer and Florida will want a very good showing this week after a poor outing against Tennessee last week. Florida is 20-7 ATS in all games last 3 years. Florida is 19-7 ATS last 3 years as a favorite. Florida is 6-1 ATS as a road favorite the past 3 years. Florida is 7-1 ATS on the road the past 3 seasons. Florida is 12-4 ATS after a conference game past 3 years. Florida is beating teams by an average of 47 to 7.3 this year. Gators are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games as a road favorite. Gators are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss. Gators are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Gators are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games. Gators are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win. Gators are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. Gators are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. Gators are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 conference games. Gators are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite of 10.5 or greater. We'll play Florida for 3 units today!

Notre Dame vs. Purdue
Play: Purdue +7
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
We're really not sold on this Notre Dame team at all. We like them even less with WR Michael Floyd out of the lineup. Said HC Charlie Weis, "You never can really replace Michael Floyd . He's an A-flight player. But what you do is put other people in position to pick up some of that responsibility." What Weis isn't telling you is that "responsibility" entails 27.5 YPC on 13 receptions and five TD's in just 10 quarters of action. Oh, and just so you know, the Irish's other starting WR, Golden Tate, has a bum ankle. Now, you know by last week's Trifecta sweep that we're not particulary sold on Purdue in the first season of the post-Joe Tiller era, but they're the underdog here. The visitor has dropped 10 of 13 in this series and the avg margin of victory has come by 17 PPG with none closer than 13 points. Think we're due for a close one? The Fighting Irish defense is lousy, giving up 68 points the last two weeks to what looks like a pair of mediocre Big Ten teams. The Boilermakers were supposed to be bottom feeders in this conference, but they can score points. In fact, they are averaging 36.3 PPG through the first three weeks. Offenses that have the ability to attack the edges have shown to give Notre Dame fits. The Irish have lost four of six outright here at Ross-Ade Stadium and are 15-29 ATS when they allow between 22 and 28 points. Purdue is 9-4 ATS in the 2nd of home back to backs and will certainly be looking to atone for that bad non-conference showing last week vs. Northern Illinois. Purdue is our 20* Primetime Bailout.

Miami vs. Virginia Tech
Play: Virginia Tech +2.5
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
When the Hokies host the Hurricanes in Blacksburg in a key ACC clash Saturday afternoon they will have plenty of edges working in their favor. For openers, Virginia Tech has been like money in the bank at home when playing with conference revenge under head coach Frank Beamer, going 17-4 SU and ATS. Inside those numbers, Beamer is 14-2 SU and ATS when his team allows less than 20 PPG on the season, including 7-0 SU and ATS when facing an opponent allowing 18 or more PPG on the season. His team is also 18-1 SU in its last 19 games at Lane Stadium. Va Tech is also 21-6 SU and ATS in its last 27 games against undefeated opposition, including 20-1 SU and 17-4 ATS when not taking six or more points in the game. On the other side, Miami has struggled in games in Blacksburg in the past, dropping 5 of their last 7 games on this field. They are also 0-5 ATS laying points at Lane Stadium. That factors into the Canes' 1-9 ATS mark as a favorite against a conference opponent off a win, including 0-8 ATS if the foe is not undefeated. The clincher, though is an awesome angle from our powerful database that tells us to: Play Against any Game Three conference road favorite that is 2-0 SU and ATS if that covered the spread by more than 10 points in its last game and are facing an opponent that is not undefeated. That's because these teams are 0-14 ATS since 1980. Yes, Miami is an improved team but this is the spot where perfect seasons are often ruined and under these circumstances the Hurricanes will be headed back to South Beach with the wind out of their sails from it's first loss of the 2009 season. We recommend a 5-unit play on Virginia Tech.
