John Ryan

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Houston Astros
Play: Philadelphia Phillies

Ai Simulator 5* graded play on Philadelphia as they face Houston set to start at 7:05 EST. The Phillies team, again this year, has been successful for a wide array of reasons. The most dominant one has been that every time there has been a personal slump, another player has stepped up and contributed big. Lee has struggled in his last 2 starts and now Blanton will step it up a notch – just as he has for 2 full seasons. Pedro is another go to guy as well afer he out pitched Cy Young candidate Lincecum just a few days ago. Ibanez slumps after coming off the DL and Werth contributes big. Lidge has been struggling nearly all season, but you can see his teammates support and encourage him. He looks to be back in big way and that in many ways is picking up Lee. Phillies , the best road team in baseball, and truly the most resilient team in baseball will win this game. Supporting this graded play is a strong angle revealing the fact that the Phillies are a solid 16-5 (+11.0 Units) against the money line in road games versus a decent bullpen whose WHIP is 1.350 to 1.450 this season; 32-17 (+13.3 Units) against the money line vs. good defensive catchers - allowing 0.5 or less SB's/game in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons. Take the Phillies.

3 Unit Play. Take St. Louis –120 over Pittsburgh

St. Louis enters this evening's play with a commanding 11 1/2-game advantage over the Cubs in the NL Central and has won nine of 13 games with the Pirates this season. Including five straight wins over the Pirates concludes another victory for the Cards tonight.

3 Unit Play. Take LA Dodgers –1½ (-110) over San Diego

Although Randy Wolf has had trouble earning victories at Dodger Stadium, going 2-2 with a 3.74 ERA in 14 starts, Los Angeles has come out winners in 10 of those games. The Dodgers are in need of a home win or any kind of a win! The Dodgers are 10-3 at home against the San Diego Padres.

4 Unit Play. Take Over 191 Atlanta Dream @ Phoenix Mercury

Note, I do see some spot 191.5 around but most are 191 currently. Nevertheless, I have this game going over 200. Atlanta comes off a nice win at Sacramento where this team put up 98 points. This team should put up even more against Phoenix on the road. Atlanta was very successful against Phoenix last time out at home winning 106-76. Phoenix certainly remembers that dubbing and would love to get revenge here. The line quickly moved up from -4.5 to -6 upon opening. But, it is hard to roll with Phoenix given that 73% of the public is also on them. I do suspect that Phoenix does well today and likely covers but I still do not want to touch a game that has the public so much on it. Rather, we will indirectly take Phoenix and Atlanta for that matter by taking the Over. With Phoenix having revenge and wanting to put up a ton of points, with Atlanta playing so well right now, and as the late eight games for the Dream have gone over, I look for this game to likely topple 200 points today.
