That's right, I am coming big with the Pirates once again. After using them yesterday as a 1500♦ winner, I am coming right back with them this afternoon to close out their set with the Reds with the win.
The one thing I really like about this Pittsburgh club is they do not give up. Yes, the ran into a tough stretch after losing that 19-inning marathon affair in Atlanta in July, but of late they have been their usual scrappy selves, taking 2 of 3 off the Cardinals at PNC Park, and now looking to take 2 of 3 off the Reds in the home park.
Cincy has dropped 7 of their last 11 away from home, and starter Mike Leake has lost his last 3 road starts, including a July 19th effort agacinst the same Bucs team he is facing today. Overall, Leake is on a 2-4 slide his last 6 starts.
James McDonald comes into this one off a home win over St. Louis his last time out, and he has pitched his best baseball this year at PNC Park, going 4-0 with a 3.09 ERA in his 70 home innings pitched this season.
Pittsburgh has won 8 of the 11 season series meetings this year versus Cincinnati, and I love them today at home in the underdog role to deliver the win once again.
