Joseph D'Amico

New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Play: New England Patriots +4½

Three teams are tied for the best record in the AFC. The Jets are one of them. The other two are facing eachother here. This is a game that very well may decide home field in the AFC title game. New England was riding a 5 game win streak until last weeks meltdown in Cleveland. The Patriots are #1 in the NFL in scoring at 27.4 PPG. Tom Brady is playing as good as ever. The QB has tallied 1826 YP and 14 TDs. He has 2 great receivers in Welker and Hernandez (791 YR and 5 TDs combined). The running game is solid with Green Ellis and Woodhead. They also are most-likely getting back Fred Taylor. Outside of LWs loss, the “D” hasn’t given up more than 20 in their L4 previous games. They face a Pittsburgh team that has really been lackluster over their L3 games despite being 2-1 in those contests. The Steelers “D” is ranked #1 in the NFL but has given up 63 points their L3 outings. At times the offense looks stagnant. Since his return, Ben Rothlisberger has tossed 6 TDs and 3 INTs. He is surely missing traded WR Santonio Holmes. The squad has a slew injured players listed as questionable. New England HC Bill Bellichik will be ready for Pitts zone blitz, leaving it up to the sputtering Steelers offense. The ‘dog in this series is 8-2 ATS their L10 meetings. The Pats are 7-2 ATS their L9 vs. the Steelers while Pittsburgh is 1-4-1 ATS their L6 as a home favorite. Take New England.

3 Units Chiefs / Broncos Over 43

This selection comes down to match-up advantages for both offenses. Kansas City's weakness is their pass defense, while Denver's weakness is their rushing defense and their defense overall. The Broncos have given up 20 points to every team this season except a weak Seattle team at home. Denver's defense really struggles against teams that run the ball, and Kansas City has some great athletes at running back and rushes for 180 yards per game. The Chiefs have one of the best rushing attacks in the league, and I expect them to run all over the weak Broncos defense. Meanwhile, Denver's head coach Josh McDaniels has had two weeks to prepare his offense, and I expect the Broncos passing game to be very successful. Denver will have to constantly keep up with Kansas City's offense in this game, and I expect both teams to light up the scoreboard.

500-Unit NFL Book Buster - SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Both of these teams are coming off bye weeks, but prior to their bye, the Niners showed a little consistency in their 24-16 win over Denver in London on Oct. 31. That game, plus the fact they have been off for two weeks leads me to believe they’ll get the job done at home today.

San Francisco QB Troy Smith threw for 196 yards and a TD against the Broncos and the rushing game produced 143 yards, with Frank Gore getting 118 yards and a TD. As long as the Niners don’t turn the ball over, they are as good as any team in this division and even with their bad start, they still have a shot at the division title.

St. Louis has shown vast improvement this season with QB Sam Bradford at the helm. The problem for this team is that they have been a complete disaster on the road. Losses in Oakland, Detroit and Tampa have left them winless on the highway. Dating back to last season, the Rams have lost six straight roadies and this one opens up a stretch of four of five on the road for them.

With Smith at QB, the Niners have mobility at the QB position as he scrambled for the tying score in their win over the Broncos two weeks ago. The Rams bring in a tough rush defense, but with Smith and Gore running the ball, the Niners have some opportunities to move the ball.

These two teams last met in the season finale last year with the Niners scoring a 28-6 win in St. Louis as nine-point road favorites. San Francisco has won four straight in this series and eight of the last 10 (SU and ATS). The Niners are 20-8-2 ATS in the last 30 head-to-head meetings and 4-1 in the last five at home.

St. Louis is just 8-22 ATS in its last 30 division games while San Francisco is on ATS runs of 4-1 in Week 10 games, 4-1-1 in November contests and 5-2 in division games.

Lay the chalk and play San Francisco to win this one by 10.

100-Unit NFL No-Brainer - NEW YORK JETS

A lot of familiar connections in this matchup as the Jets head to Cleveland to take on the Browns. But what it boils down to is the fact that New York is a far superior team and will win this one by at least 10 points. Play the Jets today.

Twin brothers Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan square off today with Rex being the loud head coach of the Jets while his brother is the defensive coordinator for the Browns. Former Jets’ coach Eric Mangini is now the Browns head coach and former Cleveland WR Braylon Edwards is the standout pass catcher now for the Jets.

New York rallied for 10 late points to tied the Lions in Detroit a week ago and then got the OT field goal to win 23-20. That win and the motivation of playing against their coach’s brother should be enough to propel this offense. And defensively, the Browns are going to have trouble moving the ball as the Jets don’t allow much on the ground.

The key to this game is going to be the running game of the Jets, currently ranked fourth in the NFL at 148 yards per game with the duo of LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene. When this team gets the rushing game going, the passing game comes right along with QB Mark Sanchez.

Cleveland scored a big 34-14 win at home over the Patriots a week ago behind the play of QB Colt McCoy and RB Patrick Hillis. But neither of those two have experienced a defensive front like the Jets bring in to Cleveland.

New York is on ATS surges of 5-2 overall, 8-2 on the road, 5-1 as a road favorite, 4-0 against the AFC and 6-2 against teams with a losing record. Cleveland has gone just 2-5 ATS in the last seven years in Week 10.

I will side with the much better team today and play New York. Lay the points and go with the Jets.
