Now that the Chargers have shaken out of their doldrums, we expect the Norv Turner 'run to the playoffs' that we've come to expect to be officially under way. Turner is 23-7 SU and 20-9-1 ATS during the 2nd half of the season with the Chargers, including 17-6-1 ATS when off a win. In addition, QB Philip Rivers is a sparkling 16-3 SU and 15-4 ATS in his NFL starting career when facing a .500 or greater foe that is off a loss. Couple this with the Texans 2-12-1 ATS career mark at home with a.500 or greater record, including 0-7 ATS when off a loss, and it confirms our contention. The clincher is this Super System from our powerful database that tells us to: Play Against any NFL .500 or greater regular season home team as a dog or favorite of four or less points that allowed 28 or more points to a division foe in its last game if the Over/Under in this game is more than 35 points. That's because these home teams are 1-16 ATS since 1980. We recommend a 3-unit play on San Diego.

4 Units Tampa Bay +9
This line is off for a variety of reasons. First, Atlanta has only defeated two opponents this season by this point spread, and neither of them are better than Tampa Bay. The Falcons beat Cleveland by 10 points and Arizona by 34 points. However, the Bucs are a divisional opponent, which means they know the Falcons much better than either of those other two teams. In addition, Tampa Bay has a great deal of motivation for this game because they are challenging Atlanta for first place in the NFC South. The Bucs should also be able to keep this game close because Atlanta's pass defense has struggled this season, giving up 260 yards per game. These two defenses are about even in yards given up, but Atlanta's offense has a slight edge. However, Josh Freeman is playing well this season and has limited his interceptions. Tampa Bay has also played well on the road this season, going 3-0 straight up and against the spread. The Bucs will play well in this game and keep it close against an Atlanta team that isn't significantly better than their opponent.
