5 Unit Pick Take Chicago Cubs (+1.45) over St. Louis
Betting against one of baseball best since the all-star break but when you get to take back this type of money is pure value. The Cubs send Carlos Zambrano who is coming off a so-so outing giving up five runs in five innings. This will be his third start vs. St. Louis this year after facing off against Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright back on July 12th where he and the Cubs came out on top in a 7-3 win a (-1.15) home favorite. So the oddsmaker makes a adjustment here which they should with the Cubs playing out the string and the Cardinals clinching the division just a formality. But this is to big of adjustment of 75 cents here, Zambian has been better on the road this year with a 3.03 era in 13 starts and has given up just 26 earned runs in 77 innings in those road starts. Zambian has also pitched well in St. Louis with a 5-1 record and a 0.95 era in nine starts their. I don’t have anything bad to say about Adam Wainwright, he is solid major league pitcher and has been in good form just not good enough to warrant this chalk.
2 Unit Play Take Baltimore (+1.45) over Boston
Daisuke Matsuzaka gets his second start of the disabled list after pitching great in his first start back vs. the Angels pitching six innings of shutout baseball. Boston is in the clear with the wild card but the odds maker is still pricing them here as a must win when in realty the Red Soxs will keep Matsuzaka on a short lease here. Baltimore has hit him in the past as Matsuzaka has a 4.72 era vs. Baltimore. Not a big bet but it is a bet here against the Sox’s in a game that means nothing to them.

4 Unit Play. Take Under 7.5 between Colorado vs. Arizona
Indeed, we are on the under with Ubaldo on the bounce-back. Ubaldo had a rough start against San Fran and gave up 6 runs in less than 3 innings in his last effort. Considering Ubaldo is on a massive win streak and was on a great streak of consecutive starts that brought his era down to 3.55 (despite pitching in Coors), his last start was out of character. I expect him to be back in form today with a quality start. In that same token, with Arizona coming off a loss today by a score of 4-10 to the hands of the Rockies, I expect Haren to do well today. Remember, Haren has pitched five straight quality starts and it is clear he has not quit on the season as his era has now dipped to 2.79 as he is clearly earning his paycheck. When he last faced the Rockies he pitched very well in Coors by giving up just two runs but the dbacks went on to lose that game 4-5 as he picked up a no-decision. I expect him to look for the win this time around - and I expect Jiminez to have a good bounce-back start. You can learn a lot from a game from the line that is placed on it. With Arizona being favored here and the public on the Rockies to a bit stronger tee, I expect this to be a competitive game and it is indicative that Haren will likely have a strong start. The Under is 14-3 in Jiminez's last 17 starts overall and the Under is 4-0 of late for Haren at home when he starts as a favorite.

3 Unit Play. Take Over 7 (-120) Chicago Cubs at St. Louis
Yes! Yesterday we had the under between these two teams but today the Cubs throw out Carlos Zambrano and who knows if ‘Big Z’ head will be in the game. When Zambrano is on his game he is untouchable but lately his game has been no where. The Cards get to Zambrano and this total goes way over tonight on ESPN. Chicago is 7-3 O/U in their last 10 games.
