3 Unit Pick Take Memphis (+17) over Mississippi

Whew, is this baby high. These two teams opened up last year in Mississippi with the oddsmaker opening the Rebels as a (10) point favorite before money betting down the closing number to (-8.5) Mississippi win. The Rebels when on to go 9-4 and win a bowl game while Memphis went 6-7 and lost a bowl game. A lot can be said about Memphis last year, they started the season 0-3 and battled back to make a bowl game. This Memphis team is a little older and better, their strong at the quarterback position and have a good returning back with Curtis Steele along with a defensive that improved last year and has seven returning starters this year. I know the Rebels are good and deep with the offense and even with no real home field advantage with these two schools so close, this line is just to high and I expect Memphis to hang around.

Since this game is being played in Boulder and not Denver we should see the home team taking advantage of this instate rivalry. What a shock that Colorado State is starting yet another season with an inexperienced QB. Colorado St is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.

The has dropped and I am taking the Buffs in this one. They have talent, but what will they do with it? They have more talent than CSU, and last year with less talent the Buffs won this game 38-17..I expect a simular score here. Dan Hawkins is on the hot seat and wins in the Big 12 will be tough to come by, this a HUGE game for big brother Colorado...THIS GAME IS IN BOULDER THIS YEAR, NOT IN DENVER. QB Hansen and Hawkins are a 1-2 punch behind a big OL for Colorado. CSU has no good QB, limited runners and far less talent.

10 DIMER - COLORADO BUFFALOES - Usually this game is played in Denver but tonight it's on the home campus of the Buffaloes in Boulder.
Now last year on a neutral field Colorado hammered this CSU team 38-17. They led 21-14 at the half and proceeded to outscore them 17-7 in the 2nd half including 10-0 in the 4th quarter.
Getting them at home tonight it may get even worse.
Huge advantage for the Buffs at the QB spot as Cody Hawkins returns along with Tyler Hansen versus the inexperience of Grant Stucker of Colorado State and if that isn't enough, 7 of their top 8 running backs are back highlighted by Darrell Scott and Rodney Stewart.
To make matters worse for the Rams and their defense - which has only one starter back on the defensive line - they are facing perhaps the best offensive line Coach Hawkins has had since coming to Colorado.
With Hawkins on the hot seat, in his 3rd year, he finally has control of the program with his recruits and this is a great spot for him to give the alumni and the home crowd a big season opening victory.
In the Sonny Lubick era, these games were competitive but with Sonny gone, they blew them out last year and will do it again this year.
Buffs roll by 21 or more again.

Ai Simulator 5* graded play on the Phillies as they play against Houston set to start at 2:05 EST. Lidge is truly a big problem for the Phillies as he blew his 10th save of the year and moved his record to an imperfect 0-7 on the season. Based on the AiS, he will not be needed today and Cole Hamels will dominate again. Hamels is coming off his 4 complete game shutout of his career allowing just 2 hits and 1 BB while recording 9 K's against SF. Over his last 3 starts he has posted a 1.64 ERA and 1.000 WHIP over his last 3 starts. Houston starter Bud Norris is in a horrid stretch sporting a 13.11 ERA over his last 3 starts. Hamels has never lost to Houston and his team record is a perfect 5-0. Supporting this graded play is a strong system that has produced a record of 40-7 making 22.3 units sin profits since 2003. Play on road teams revenging a one run loss to opponent and is a good team sporting a 54% to 62% winning percentage playing a marginal losing team sporting a win percentage of 46% to 49%. Take the Phillies.

2-Unit Play. Take ‘Over’ 9.5 Minnesota at Cleveland
We have a solid ‘over’ ump and two shaky arms on the mount here. Last night’s game went under and there really weren’t a lot of quality at-bats. But David Huff is a guy that’s played ‘over’ at a 5-1-1 clip over his last seven outings. He has a 6.57 ERA on the season and with 19 starts under his belt that’s enough of a cross section for my thoughts on him (he sucks) to be backed up. Nick Blackbun has been all over the place, giving up six runs in two innings in one outing and then just three in seven innings the next. He’s given up 17 runs in 24 innings over his last five starts. He has played ‘under’ in three straight starts. But I don’t think he’s good enough for that to continue. We have Sam Holbrook and a tight zone behind the dish. And since it is a holiday weekend I expect a bit more of a crowd and a bit different feel for this game. There are two pretty weak bullpens at work here. And with that tight ump that means that we’re more likely to get into them early. We have warm weather and a light breeze blowing out to left field. I think all of that together will be enough for this one to sneak over late and cash our ticket in the process.
