30 Dime Oregon State
10 Dime Bills

Oregon State at Oregon

OREGON STATE - In a winner-takes-all matchup in the Civil War, Oregon State will cover on the road at Oregon and flirt with the outright victory as about a 9 1/2 point underdog.

Coming into this game the Beavers have gone 6-1 SU and ATS their last 7 games. In that stretch the team has ripped off 4 consecutive wins SU and 3 straight covers.

Consider, too, Oregon State has covered in 4 straight road games and is 4-1 ATS on the road this season. For the year, the Beavers are outscoring their opponents on the road, beating them by an average of less than 12 points per game (32-20.8).

On the other side, Oregon has failed to cover in 2 of its last 3 games and has failed to cover in 5 of the last 9 meetings between these two.

The last time Oregon hosted Oregon State, the Beavers walked away with a 38-31 outright victory as a 1-point underdog.

The Beavers will cash in again on the road and flirt with the outright victory.

Jets at Bills

BILLS - With former head coach Dick Jauron gone, Buffalo comes into this game in Toronto having played solid back-to-back games, including Sunday’s 31-14 beat down of the Dolphins.

The Bills have covered in each of their last 2 games and have gone 4-2 ATS their last 6 games overall.

The Jets, on the other hand, have gone 2-6 ATS their last 8 games and are only 1-3 ATS their last 4 games overall.

On the road New York has failed to cover in 3 of its last 4 games. Now they face a Bills team that beat them SU and ATS when they first met on Oct. 18. In their last 6 meetings Buffalo has gone 5-1 ATS against the Jets. They’ll cash in again tonight.

Rocketman

Morehead State -4.5

Both teams come in with identical 1-3 records on the season. Tennessee Martin is 0-12 SU and 2-9 ATS since 1997 as a home underdog of 3 1/2 to 6 points. Tennessee Martin is allowing 80.2 points per game overall this year. Morehead State is 4-1 SU and ATS overall vs Tennessee Martin the past 3 years. Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. Eagles are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Ohio Valley. Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite of 0.5-6.5. Eagles are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Eagles are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 Thursday games. Eagles are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Skyhawks are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games as a home underdog. Skyhawks are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a home underdog of 0.5-6.5. Eagles are 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. My unique power ratings have Morehead State winning by 12.73 points. We'll play Morehead State for 3 units tonight!

Celtics/Spurs Under 188

This game features two of the better defensive teams in the league. San Antonio has held seven of their last ten opponents to under 100 points, with higher scoring teams Toronto, Oklahoma City, and Golden State scoring in triple digits. The Spurs focus much more on defense in these bigger games because they know they cannot win high scoring games. San Antonio’s games against Dallas (twice), Houston, and Utah all fell under the total, and all of those games were against the best teams on their short-term schedule. Meanwhile, Boston has the same tendencies. Their recent biggest games, against Atlanta, Miami, and Orlando have gone under the total as well. However, these two teams play higher scoring games against lesser competition, which leads to totals in these bigger games being inflated. Look for this game to be lower scoring and fall under the total.

Lenny Del Genio

Golden State +2.5

Houston has previously played in three back-to-backs this season. They are 3-0 SU in the second half of those spots, but they key is they were coming off a loss in the first game every time. They won last night in LA, walloping the Clippers, 102-85, and must now turn around with no rest to play the up-tempo Warriors. The Clippers were a horrendous 1 of 14 from behind the three-point arc last night. Don't look for the Warriors to shoot that woefully. The Rockets are allowing over 100 PPG on the road this season. Golden State has in-season revenge for a 108-107 loss on the second night night of the season where they were 5.5-point home favorites. Warriors are 6-1 ATS off a road loss this season and 8-2 ATS if they were a dog in their previous game. Golden State is our NBA Underdog of the Week.

“2 UNIT” COLLEGE BASKETBALL LATE NIGHT TV SPECIAL

Baylor +8’ at Arizona State

The bottom line is that Scott Drew has done one of the most impressive coaching jobs in America as more than five years ago he arrived at Baylor with a program that was nearly disbanded by tragedy and scandal. To make a long story short Baylor is the only major basketball program to go under the NCAA’s “death penalty” which also nearly ended football many years ago at SMU. Not only has head coach Scott Drew saved the Bears, he has posted an outstanding overall record (24-9) in the month of DECEMBER where Baylor just happens to have WON FIFTEEN IN A ROW outright. I will admit that Arizona State deserves to be a home favorite since they have enjoyed consecutive 20-win campaigns with Herb Sendeck at the controls. But the Sun Devils in the offseason lost a pair of players to the NBA draft including All-American James Hardy who will not be easy to replace. In addition Arizona State is in a classic “look ahead” spot as on Tuesday they travel to Brigham Young who is one of the more successful hoop programs out west. Even though head coach Herb Sendeck is a stickler for defense, my database research indicates that Arizona State is a poor 8-19 ATS/HOME when the posted total is in the 130’s which is the case in this late night National TV encounter (Fox Sports Net). In addition Baylor just happens to be 10-2 ATS/ROAD long term when facing “slow down” opponents who average less than 54 average shots per game from the field. The various Baylor forwards in the frontcourt have been productive hitting a combined 67% of their shot opportunities from the field. The Bears also have a defensive presence in the middle with big man Ekpe Udoh who has amassed 25 BLOCKED SHOTS which is more than 5 different teams from the Big 12 Conference draw. Baylor also has firepower in the backcourt led by SENIOR point-guard Tweety Carter who is a bucket away from reaching the 1,000 point career milestone. Junior LaceDarius Dunn has made at least one 3-pointer from long range for the Bears in 19 consecutive outings which is the 4th-longest streak in America. As mentioned earlier Baylor is an amazing 15-0 SU the last fifteen times they have taken the court in the month of DECEMBER so I will gladly take the points in this late night encounter

BOB BALFE

Oregon State +9.5 over Oregon
The road team has won the civil war in the past few years and this year both teams are evenly talented. Oregon has a great rushing game while Oregon State has a great passing game. On defense Oregon has a good pass defense and Oregon State has a good run defense. Something has to give tonight. The only advantage is home field and this series has proven that trend does not mean much. This line is over inflated. Both teams have done good at protecting the ball over the past few weeks and this game is going to come down to who wants it more. Look for a close game coming down to the last drive. The winner takes all the marbles in the PAC 10. Take Oregon State and the points.

Jets -3 over Bills
Both teams played just a few weeks ago resulting in a Bills OT victory. Saying the Jets handed the Bills the game would be an understatement. Thomas Jones had over 200 yards rushing, but the Jets turned the ball over 6 times beating themselves. This game is being played in Toronto. There is talk about the Bills moving to Toronto if they are sold. This game will be played on turf and again I do not see the Bills stopping the Jets run game on a fast surface. When the Jets do pass they will be going against a very banged up Bills Secondary. I just do not see how the Bills are going to score much on offense tonight. The Jets can blitz just about as well as any team in the league. The Bills offensive line is a mess and Revis should be able to contain T.O when Fitzpatrick tries to air it out. This is a must win for both teams. The Jets have more talent and will out of the playoff race with a loss tonight. Look for the Jets to run, run and run some more. Rex Ryan will not allow Sanchez to turn the ball over. This will be Rex Ryan football with tough defense and a physical running attack. Take the Jets.

NBA Basketball
Spurs -1.5 over Celtics

College Basketball
Detroit -5.5 over Youngstown State
