Bob Balfe

Colorado +17 over West Virginia

The Buffs started the season as bad as they could, but did respond well last week at home against Wyoming pitching a shutout. Last year Colorado beat West Virginia at home and now WVU will be looking for revenge. This game reminds me of Iowa/PSU. The talent just has not improved enough for WVU to be such big favorites. This team has yet to blow anyone out yet this year and do not have the talent they had a year ago. Colorado has a QB which a ton of College Football experience and they have a huge offensive line. The Buffs will control the clock on the ground limiting the chances WVU gets to beat them for a quick strike. The pace of this game should keep Colorado inside of the number. Take Colorado.

Boston should be resting several starters again tonight. Last night they rested all starters except Gonzalez and Ortiz and it showed with a 12-0 loss to the Blue Jays. Francona said he is not worried about how they play the rest of this week and it will have no effect on the way they play in the playoffs. Boston has now lost 6 games in a row while Cleveland has won 4 of their last 6 overall. I don't think Lester will pitch long regardless of how he does. Boston even brought in a catcher to pitch last night. Indians are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. American League East. Red Sox are 1-4 in their last 5 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game. Red Sox are 0-5 in their last 5 games following a loss. Red Sox are 0-4 in their last 4 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Red Sox are 0-5 in their last 5 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. Red Sox are 0-6 in their last 6 games on grass. We'll play Cleveland for 5 units tonight!

Black Widow

6* Widow Wiseguy CU/WVU ESPN Thursday Night ATS SLAUGHTER on Colorado +17.5

The Colorado Buffaloes couldn't have gotten off to a worse start this season, losing to Colorado State and Toledo. But they came back with a 24-0 win over Wyoming the following week, and now they are working on a bye week before meeting up with West Virginia Thursday. Look for Colorado to come out with their best performance of the season tonight with some extra practice time to work out the kinks. WVU is a bit overrated this season, and they should not be more than a two touchdown favorite to beat the Buffaloes. The Mountaineers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. WVU beat Liberty 33-20 in their opener and beat East Carolina 35-20 in their next home game. Colorado is much better than they've played to start this season, and they'll come out and show it Thursday in another nail biter similar to CU's 17-14 home win over WVU last season. Take the Buffaloes and the points.
