Nick "BookieKiller" Parsons

Florida State vs. North Carolina
Play: North Carolina -2.5

For a number of different reasons I feel we’re getting great value on the home side as it plays its first “Thursday Night” game in school history: If North Carolina can win its next two games, it would even its league record up at 2-2, and would be in a position to contend for the berth in the conference championship game that goes to the Coastal Division winner. QB T.J. Yates is throwing for about 161 yards a game and will be looking to exploit FSU’s horrible secondary. RB Ryan Houston is tied with Clemson’s C.J. Spiller for fifth place in touchdowns scored in the ACC with seven.

The defense has held four of its six opponents to under 100 yards rushing. DE Robert Quinn leads the Heels with seven sacks (second in the league).

Keep in mind that North Carolina is 4-2 SU its last six and 10-4 SU its last 14 at Kenan Stadium.

On the other side of the field: FSU is a team that can put points on the board, but is unable to stop teams putting points up on them, and is going through many off-field issues, not the least of which is their beleaguered head-coach, who most are hoping will retire at the end of this season.

Bobby Bowden’s Seminoles rank at the bottom or near the bottom in every single defensive category in the league!

Florida State is a poor 2-4 SU its last six overall and a below average 3-5-1 ATS its last nine on the road.

Bottom line: These teams have not played in five years and it’s a Thursday night/ESPN special which the Tar Heels have been pointing to as a chance to showcase their program under Butch Davis. I expect NORTH CAROLINA to put pressure on Seminoles QB Christian Ponder and move to 2-1 ATS at home this season as Florida State falls to 0-4 ATS its last four vs. conference opponents! *10* North Carolina.

Tony George

Yankees vs. Anaheim
Play: Yankees +110

Time to close the door tonight for the Yanks. AJ Burnet is 3-0 against the Angels this year, is 3-0 in his last three starts with a 2.08 ERA. The bullpen of the Yankees has an ERA of 1.71 their last 3 games in this series, and the bats of NY are red hot with a better overall team batting average. A Rod and Jeter are stepping up, and the Yanks showed no signs of weakness in a 10-1 thrashing on Tuesday. Better starter, better bullpen, deeper bench and talent as an underdog here? I am going with the best team here, like I did last night on the Phillies, even on the road. John Lackey for LA is just 7-5 at home this year and is 1-2 in his last 3 starts.

Play 1 Unit on NY

Lenny Del Genio

Yankees vs. Angels
Play: Yankees +110

Goodbye, Angels, it was nice knowing you. Is there any doubt that the Yankees are going to win the World Series? Well, apparently there is in the oddsmakers minds as they have surprisingly installed the Yanks as the underdogs for Game 5. New York will remember back to the 2004 ALCS and realize how important it is to close out the opponent as soon as possible. The righty vs. righty matchup favors the visitors here as although the ROI vs. righties is the same for both teams, the Yankees record is much better (67-41) when compared to that of the Angels (60-48). AJ Burnett has been sensational down the stretch for NY, posting a 2.03 ERA over his last three starts, and the big reason why is he's now being paired up with catcher Jose Molina in all starts (see ya later Jorge Posada). The Angles have just not looked like themselves in this series with the Yankees knocking around their pitching, including John Lackey in Game One for nine hits and three walks in less than six innings. The Yankees are 44-17 after allowing one run or less since the start of the 2008 season and have a rested bullpen that is 20-6 after pitching one inning or less previous game. NY Yankees are our MLB Oddsmaker Mismatch.

Wunderdog

Nashville Predators @ Ottawa Senators
5 units Under 5.5

The Ottawa Senators are off to a fast start at 5-2. The Predators, after opening with a pair of wins, have now gone winless in their last six. They opened by netting three goals in each of their first two games, but the net has gone silent since for the Predators who have not managed three in any of the last six and overall, have tallied just six in those six games. This is certainly not a recipe for winning hockey games as two of them have resulted in shutouts. The Predators don't seem to get offensively healthy vs. the Northeast where they have played seven straight UNDERS, and have also slipped under the total to a 21-10 mark against a winning team. Ottawa has obliged the UNDER against the Central in all of their last eight, and have finished UNDER the total to the tune of 37-13-3 after posting a win in their last game. It takes two teams to reach six, and neither here seems capable of much offensively the way this one sets up. I'm going with the UNDER here.

The Canadian Prophet

BET THE FARM 3*: SAN JOSE SHARKS -137 ALT. PARLAY OR SU SHARKS/CANADIENS

The above Sharks SU line was Pinnacle early. If you can't get the line at 140, drop this to a 2* play or play the Alt. PARLAY Sharks/Canadiens +172 or SU. As for the Sharks, 2 big stats stand out to me in this matchup. First, SAN JOSE is 7-0 ATS (+7.0 Units) in road games off 2 or more consecutive road wins over the last 3 seasons. Second, TAMPA BAY is 6-26 ATS (+37.1 Units) in home games after 2 straight blowout losses by 3 goals or more since 1996. I am mindful of the reunion of LaCavalier and St. Louis tonight but I don't think its going to add much to this outcome. I smell another Shark's blowout. As for Montreal, congrats to the Isles last night on their first win. Now back to vacation as the Habs will have to leave town if they lose this game tonight. I would hate to see the Quebec Canadiens franchise next season. MONTREAL is 6-2-0 straight up against NY ISLANDERS over the last 3 seasons

The Banker

LOCK 3-4*: SAN JOSE SHARKS -140
Love the way the Sharks have been playing the last couple of games. Hate the way the Bolts have been playing, getting outscored 11-2 their last 2 games. Simply put, one team is surging and one team is shuffling lines trying to find another win. Vinny in a slump, Sharks on the rise, and they won the last 4 head to head. Can you say "shark bait?"
