3 Unit Pick Take Atlanta (+1.10) over Houston

I will back Derek Lowe and the Braves here, Houston starter Rou Oswalt has had his problems vs. the Braves having never beaten them the only National League team he has not defeated and has posted a 6.18 era in six career starts. His health has been a question mark too leaving in the seventh inning in his last start with a tight back and spending some time on the disabled list in July. Lowe has been a solid pick up for the Braves, he keeps the ball down and doesn’t walk many , tough for me to pass up on him here at a dog price.

3 Unit Play. Take Houston -120 over Atlanta

Atlanta pitcher Derek Lowe has lost 2 out of his last 3 outings and now tonight Lowe and the Braves face Roy Oswalt. Tonight we like the Astros at home with their ace on the mound. Atlanta is 1-7 in their last 8 games and Houston is 10-2 in Roy Oswalt last 10 starts.

Mr East

San Antonio Silver Stars @ Sacramento Monarchs
Pick: 4 units Under 158.5

The San Antonio Silver Stars and the Sacramento Monarchs are reaching the conclusion of disappointing seasons. The Silver Stars are the only Western Conference team the Monarchs have beaten twice on the season, so they will be playing with revenge here as they have dropped 2 straight, and that means defense for San Antonio. sacramento has proven vulnerable all season to teams that want to play defense, and I will go with the under in this one.

Nick Parsons

Seattle Mariners @ Los Angeles Angels
Pick: 3 units Over 8 (Game of the Month)

For a number of different reasons I feel we're getting good value on the "over" in this situation: Atlanta pitcher Derek Lowe took a loss against the Reds on Friday; he tossed seven innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits. Lowe struck out five and walked two, giving up one homer and his ERA dropped slightly to 4.36 with the performance; his ERA raises to 4.87 on the road. Two of his last three starts have gone "over" the number and I look for this trend to continue this evening. His counterpart is Roy Oswalt; Atlanta remains the only NL opponent, besides Houston, that the right-hander has never beaten. He’s 0-2 with a 6.18 ERA in six starts; the total has gone over in two of Oswalt's last three games as well. Although Atlanta has had problems putting points on the board the last few games, it is in fact interesting to note that the Braves have seen the total go over the posted number in 53 of 86 vs. right-handed starters on the year. Look for the Braves to turn things around at the plate as they pursue their first series win in over two weeks; good value on the OVER!

9* WNBA SUPREME ANNIHILATOR *79% ANGLE*

5 units San Antonio Silver Stars -2.5

Sacramento is not going to make the playoffs while San Antonio needs every game the rest of the way to get back into the postseason. The Silver Stars are tied with Minnesota, who is coming off an improbable wins last night by the way, for the fourth and final playoff spot but if they win out, they are in as they own the tiebreaker with the Lynx. Inconsistency has been the word to describe San Antonio of late as it lost four straight games before winning three straight prior to its latest loss against the red hot Los Angeles Sparks. Obviously with a 4-12 record away from home, the Silver Stars have had their issues away from San Antonio but motivation should trump anything tonight as they cannot afford to lose another game, especially against a team with absolutely nothing to play for with the exception of being a spoiler. Adding extra motivation if it is even needed is that Sacramento has taken the last two meetings of this season series. This included a 17-point victory in San Antonio which was easily the biggest loss at home for the Silver Stars. With the final game of the season coming against Seattle, the Silver Stars know what needs to be done. San Antonio also falls into a solid situation as well. Play on favorites that have failed to cover two of their last three games against the spread and with a winning percentage between .400 and .499 going up against a team with a winning percentage between .250 and .400. This situation is 33-9 ATS (78.6 percent) since 1997. The playoff hopes remain alive after tonight. 9* San Antonio Silver Stars

GOLDEN CONTENDER

Philly at Washington
Pick: Under

The Phillies have gone under in 17 of 20 games as a road favorite of minus 175 or more. In September they have gone under in 7 of their 8 games. Philly has struggled at the plate averaging just 2.4 runs on .217 hitting over the past seven games. Washington has not fared much better averaging just 3 runs per game on .245 hitting in that same time span. Tonight the pitching match up is J.Blanton for Philly and L.Hernandez for the Nationals. Blanton has pitched real well in the second half after struggling early in the year. He should have no problems tonight against a sub par Washington team. Hernandez pitched most of the season with the Mets. In his last two road starts he has pitched very well. While he has had struggles this year,he is known for his big efforts when facing top tier teams. I look for a well pitched low scoring game here tonight. In late phone action I have a double power angle going in the college football game and a solid opening week system play in the NFL. Jump on and grab two high end technical plays tonight. Go under in the Philly at Washington game
