This line has moved down but now I think it is an excellent selection. Connecticut is simply a one man show with Kemba Walker. The Huskies are very young and very inexperienced, evident by their struggles at Pittsburgh. I expect Connecticut to really struggle on the road in conference play because they don't have good team on offense and Walker can't carry the team by himself in tough road games. Notre Dame is an excellent three point shooting team and Connecticut struggles to defend the perimeter. Also, the Irish have a good home court advantage and are coming off of a bad loss at Syracuse, despite hanging around for a good part of the game. Look for Notre Dame to be very fired up for this game and hammer a young and inexperienced team that will once again be rattled on the road.

Everyone's aware of the 0-9 record Ohio St has versus SEC teams in bowl games. Coach Tressel has 3 of those losses. The key here is, his Buckeyes are playing an SEC team in a bowl game tonight in a game that is not for the National Title. Ohio St brings to the bowls the best all around team on both offense and defense. They are the best defensive team in the country as they give up only 94 yds/game on the ground and only 156 yds thru the air. On offense, they average 220 yds/game on the ground and 229 yds/game thru the air. They are the only bowl team to have this type of balance on both sides of the ball. The 5 key players that earned suspensions have until next year to concern themselves with that issue. If anything, it probably served to keep the rest of the players in check during their final bowl preparation. The Buckeyes have the chance tonight to give the Big 10 Conference a well needed victory, and if they have the opportunity to run it up, they will. PREDICTION: OHIO ST 38 - ARKANSAS 20

Ohio State really wants this game to finally get a win against the SEC after getting dominated by both LSU and Florida in previous bowls. The Buckeyes have a significant advantage with running the ball in this game, as the Razorbacks have given up over 150 yards per game this season. Teams that struggled to stop the run really had problems in bowls this year, and I expect that to continue in this game. Jim Tressel had his team well prepared in last year's Rose Bowl against an explosive Oregon team, and I expect him to have his team prepared even better in this game. I also expect Ryan Mallett to struggle against the blitzes and defensive schemes that Ohio State will throw at him. Also, a closer look at Arkansas schedule this year shows that the bulk of their wins came against weaker teams. The Razorbacks lost to both Auburn and Alabama and struggled to beat Mississippi State on the road, in a game that they probably should have lost. Also, their win against South Carolina isn't as impressive given how the Gamecocks played against Auburn and Florida State in their last two games, especially since Arkansas' passing game matches up very well against South Carolina's weaker secondary. Ohio State will have a big chip on their shoulder in this game as well because everyone is talking about how bad the Big 10 has done in bowls. However, this is really the only game where the Big 10 has a favorable situation, other than the Illinois/Baylor game. Ohio State is also the best team in the Big 10 by a decent margin due to their significant talent advantage. I expect the Buckeyes to get a big statement win.
